Project Officer

SUMMARY

The WaSH Officer is responsible for the proper implementation of WaSH services, with a focus on providing humanitarian assistance to refugees affected by the Syrian conflict. The purpose of this position is to provide direct supervision for the WaSH project that aims to contribute to effective and sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene practices, through engagement the beneficiaries provide an enabling environment that promotes improved living conditions to vulnerable Lebanese and Syrian refugee communities.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Ensure the proper implementation of the WASH activities.

  • Ensure that WV and WASH sector standards of the assigned projects are in place.
  • Train and coach the staff on WASH project models and relevant topics and approaches;
  • Follow-up on the integration and implementation of recommendations and comments of WASH Coordinator and PM.
  • Support on developing project tools such as SOPs, beneficiary selection tools, training curriculum and tests…)
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess progress alignment of WASH projects with project models and sector standards.
  • Monitor quality collection of data in assessments and surveys and contribute to qualitative data collection and interpretation of findings.
  • Report observations of different projects and interventions to WASH Coordinator and PM.
  • Report CP incidents as per the safeguarding policy guidelines.

Handle tracking, reporting on activities

  • Ensure that a regular programmatic/technical progress report is submitted with recommendation to assure adequate implementation of all projects.
  • Ensure the implementation of all Technical tools to all projects.

Perform other duties as required

  • Attend and participate in capacity building trainings.
  • Responsible of own & staff security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.
  • Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to PM.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Create smooth working environment in all levels of the project area.
  • Conduct regular meetings with other project staffs to discuss and document lessons learned
  • Provide written feedback when and if there is need to alter the project as appropriate to maximize impact.
  • Monitor activities to ensure their accurate and timely implementation, as well as constant review and improvement.

 

 

 

 

Training and Capacity Building:

  1. Attend all trainings planned and evaluate these trainings.
  2. Suggest any topic for future trainings based on the needed skill or knowledge.

 

General Policies:

  1. Follow the general policies, code of conduct, Child Safeguarding policy.
  2. Adhere to the PSEA policy.
  3. Abide by the values and principles of all policies set by the organization.
  4. Perform other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

EDUCATION

A Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline such as business management, engineering or equivalent experience (Master degree is desirable).

At least 2 years of previous experience as WaSH Officer or coordinator or related field.

Previous work in NGOs will be an asset.

  • Solid commend of fluent English spoken and written is a must.
