T539 - FORSA2 - BLN Training in Bekaa

Mercy Corps is seeking a service provider for two BLN (basic literacy & numeracy) training in the West Bekaa area. The Basic Literacy and Numeracy (BLN) training will support illiterate or semi-literate individuals and drop-out youth to acquire the level required to find jobs or participate in other technical and vocational training. Mercy Corps is accredited with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) to deliver BLN training that will be aligned with the national standards of 300 hours of class over a period of 3 to 5 months (75 days) with a maximum of 20 participants per training. 180 hours for Arabic, 75 hours for Math, and 45 hours for life skills will be dispersed among the 300 hours. This training will be open to both sexes but will particularly benefit women. The service provider is expected to provide a venue for approximately 20 students per training with the needed facilities (chairs, desks, board…) for the total duration mentioned above. Applicants are also requested to provide a list of teachers with experience in BLN training. Interviewing and selecting the teachers will be handled by Mercy Corps. The service provider, on the other hand, will be responsible for covering their salaries in accordance with MEHE's (Ministry of Education and Higher Education) standards, which should be included in the applicant's budget (Criteria 5 in the proposal template).
