Community Based Psychosocial Support Services Team Leader/Supervisor in Beirut.

Terre des hommes- Lausanne is seeking a qualified Community Based Psychosocial Support Services Team Leader/Supervisor in Beirut.

 

The Community Based Psychosocial Support Services Team Leader/Supervisor (CBPSS Team Leader) is in charge of coordinating, planning, and facilitating all the Community Based Psychosocial Support Activities for the street connected children and their parents/caregivers in Beirut, Lebanon. The CBPSS Team Leader supervises and provides on job capacity building to field staff and local implementing partner NGO. Some of tasks are mentioned below:

 

Team leadership:

  • Coordinates the CBPSS team and ensures that objectives are completed in a qualitative and quantitative manner in due time.
  • Liaises with the project manager for the CBPSS team.
  • Reports activities and needs to the project manager.
  • Represents Tdh in meetings and trainings while taking MoM.
  • Collects all data, reports, achievements, challenge etc from the CBPSS team and communicates them with the project manager.
  • Manages all PWARs and PSRs requested by the CBPSS team, and keeps track of the purchasing and distribution of all the items and the submission of their delivery notes.   
  • Keeps track and follows up on M&E deliverables.
  • Coordinates with the Senior MHPSS Technical Advisor.
  • Coordinates with the local authorities and other stakeholders in the areas we are working in when needed.

 

Community Based Psychosocial Support Services:

 

  • Coordinates and supervises all the Community Based Psychosocial Support Activities organized in the outdoor and indoor spaces for the street connected children and youth in Beirut District.
  • Coordinates and supervises 3 Community Based Social Behavioral Change Initiatives (Qudwa Initiatives), according to guidelines and standards.
  • Coordinates and supervises 2 child and youth-led advocacy initiatives with the street connected children and their parents/caregivers, employers, and local authorities.
  • Ensures the proper raising awareness and dissemination of CP/GBV messages according to Child Protection Sector’s Guidelines.
  • Promotes, facilitates, and encourages the achievement of the action plan objectives.
  • Delivers the activities on time, based on available budget and ensure the quality, evaluation, monitoring and learning practices. 
  • Identifies and refers cases to Case Management teams.

 

 

Planning and Implementation:

 

  • Provides on job shadowing and capacity building to field staff directly in the field.
  • Facilitates, collects, and reports information regarding the overall situation of the children and their families in the community, with specific attention paid to the project children.
  • Identifies, networks, and connects child protection resources to the child, community and community structures.
  • Supports and assists in the network mapping of resources specific to the locations he/she operates in.
  • Shares child protection resources and information both within the Tdh staff structure and the community he/she operates in.
  • Informs his/her direct supervisor about any difficulty met in Tdh activities implementation.
  • Ensures a strict adherence to Tdh Child Protection Policy at all times, including respect for confidentiality and child centered approach, and acts in the best interests of the child.
  • Provides training, guidelines for the execution of activities and dissemination of messages.
  • Ensures the participation of children and youth in the activities.
  • Ensures the engagement, participation and ownership of local partners, public actors and communities in the initiatives.
  • Uses the existing tools for the initiatives but also contribute in creating new tools/curriculums related to activities.
  • Ensures constant protection monitoring.
  • Contributes in communication and visibility activities.
  • Contributes in capitalization of the initiatives and develop linkages and connections with other organizations who are developing similar activities.
  • Evaluates the impact of activities and adjusting according to feedback and needs.
  • Ensures that the messages and activities would be multiplied.

 

Reporting:

  • Ensures data is collated to prove the achievement of project objectives.
  • Assists in the design, maintains and uses data collection systems and punctual reporting to enable measurable results to prove the achievement of project objectives.
  • Provides reports as required and directed by the Project Manager.
  • Participates in the monitoring exercises and reports.

 

Coordination:

  • Ensures close coordination with the Case Worker and FPSS Team Leaders.
  • Contributes to create a positive atmosphere interacting constructively with colleagues and children/youth and caregivers.
  • Ensures the alignment with Tdh’s Partnership Framework and especially guidelines concerning the approach with local partners and providing capacity building activities for their staff.
  • Communicates efficiently with technical team and managers conveying to them ideas and new proposals according to daily observation in dealing with children.
  • Participates with in donor visits and promotes proper preparation and implementation.
  • Communicates with the stakeholders, partners and municipalities through regular visits.

 

Organisational Policies:

  • Respects the Tdh’s Global Code of Conduct (GCD), Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), Prevention from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Policy (PSEA) and Policy on Gender and Diversity and its principles of child protection, ensuring the policy’s implementation and prompt notification of the CSP/PSEA Focal Point with any information regarding potential breaches of the policy.
  • Is aware of, abides by and promote the practices and values set out in all other Tdh policies and procedures such as the Internal Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures and other policies.
  • Undertakes all other duties that may be requested by the line-manager and that are compatible with the job.
  • Participates actively in weekly and monthly coordination meetings with the line manager.
  • Supports other teams and the line manager.
  • Ensures Do No Harm analysis are carried out and the principle of Do No Harm is observed and upheld in all the engagements.

 

Location/Travel: Beirut District.

 

Job qualifications and competencies:

 

Academic Background: BS in Psychology or Sociology or relevant field (social work, education etc). Master’s degree is a plus but not mandatory.

Experience: 5 to 6 years of experience.

Professional Competencies:

  • Child protection and MHPSS knowledge, international principles & standards related to child rights, etc., sense of responsibility, trustworthiness & ethics, good & professional attitudes.
  • High level of planning follow up and analytical skills.
  • High level of Communication and Representation Skills: participation in working groups, representation/presentation skills, public speaking.
  • Experience in organizing community initiatives (at least 2 years)
  • Experience in communicating and coordinating with local partners and actors (at least 2 years).
  • Able to deal with children of different age group and backgrounds.
  • Innovation and Development.

  • Good Arabic and English skills (written and spoken).

Reports to: CP Project Manager
