Section 3: Scope of Work

Fabraca Studios sal - Industrial City- Bauchrieh, Lebanon

Fabraca Studios manufacture custom-made lighting solutions for residential and commercial projects. The company was founded in 2013 by architect  Samer Saade. Inspired by the traditional techniques used in the Industrial City, Fabraca Studios experiments with form and material. Each project, from sketch to maquette to prototype, is the result of an organically evolving process. Concepts evolve as a result of the team’s multidisciplinary approach to product design. Prototypes are created in collaboration with neighboring artisans and craftsmen, and visions are set through communication with clients and architects. Working from Beirut’s Industrial City, Fabraca collaborates with various workshops, learning age-old techniques, aiming ultimately to revive and rely on the community, creating a symbiotic relationship between designer and craftsman.

Today, the company achieved a major step by earning the design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris- France https://www.imarabe.org/en, which is a large museum featuring the Arabic culture in the heart of Paris. This large project is considered a significant achievement for the company which was competing with famous international firms. Now, the company is bidding for important projects in the GCC and Europe, and thanks to its quality custom-made products, innovation, and material, the company has a high competitive edge even with large international firms in the domain.

Fabraca Studios is subcontracting with many workshops (around 5) in Bauchrieh Industrial City to perform jobs that the company is not willing to do in its workshop because they require advanced machines that are not available at Fabraca Studios.

The new buyers will be buying from Fabraca Studios custom-made high-end lighting solutions for their projects. The value of the transactions is estimated at $120,000 for the first year and $130,000 for the second.

Lighting technology is always evolving and improving, with new trends, applications, materials, and electrical innovations occurring every day. For the company to be able to be in line with all the above improvements in the business and to offer to its clients, state-of-the-art custom-made solutions, it lacks new product development skills to support the technological aspect of the lighting, mainly LED and others.

LED will cost-share with Fabraca Studios to hire a lighting design consultant with more extensive experience in the lighting manufacturing industry, material, innovation, and new technologies to help the company in technical development, innovate new lighting products and systems especially the LED lighting, redesigning production files and reassuring heat transfer in lighting object. The consultant will work additionally on the production process (Production planning and management) to increase efficiency and quality.
