Data Analyst Specialist

Main Roles

LRC is seeking to expand the GIS system in Reporting and Data Management infrastructure and systems by focusing on enhancing the existing suites of GIS Applications and developing related decision support tools.

The Data Analyst Specialist role is to plan for and implement all aspects of the LRC’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS)-related projects including facilitating project teams, timelines and milestones and developing standards for GIS deployment and use.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Plan, direct, coordinate and maintain the Geographic Information System program.
• Convert geographic information to digital data; maintain files and records.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and lead development, designs of GIS solutions for LRC Sectors by performing needs analyses.
• Lead and support development / configuration of Geographic Information System tools, apps and data visualization solutions to meet business operational and service delivery needs.
• Provide oversight of projects and tasks completed by consultants and GIS professionals to ensure compliance with organization standards.
• Provide technical leadership on GIS projects and assist in making strategic decisions to accomplish organizational goals.
• Provide guidance to Sector Managers to recommend strategic planning on GIS system.
• Provide plans to utilize information efficiently and across departmental/sectoral lines where appropriate.
• Lead in the design, development and implementation of an enterprise GIS system across the organization.
• Manage GIS applications, services, and procedures.
• Perform schema changes on the GIS database.
• Manage cloud-based geospatial content and applications.
• Support multi-disciplinary analytics using geospatial data.
• Assist with technical support and troubleshooting of GIS applications.
• Provide training, coaching, and guidance to staff who are using GIS applications and services.
• Develop and lead GIS-related trainings.
• Research opportunities to expand GIS capabilities.
• Manage and attend training seminars internally and externally abroad.
• Coordinate with other staff to develop materials needed for public meetings, workgroups, council meetings, and other meetings as needed.

• Experience in conducting systems requirements analyses, design and development of decision support tools.
• Experience with Business Intelligence.
• Experience with data integration.

Industry Related Experience

• Experience in similar volunteer-based organizations or humanitarian organizations
