Outreach Officer

Under the project titled: “Supporting climate smart agriculture value chains in North-east Baalbeck while addressing food availability and accessibility through a conflict sensitive approach” funded by the Embassy of Switzerland in Lebanon.  
Cooperation Without Borders seeks to have on board professional outreach officers with an agriculture background to help identifying potential beneficiaries of farmers in the North-east Baalbeck (Arsal, Labwe, Nabi Othman, Ain, Fakiha, Rass Baalbeck and Qaa).
He/She will be required to conduct pre and post support assessment including needed follow-up.

Scope of Work:

The Agriculture Engineers/Outreach Officers shall be responsible for particular tasks related to the selection of the beneficiaries, monitoring activities, communication with stakeholders involved in the project, as well as assistance in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.

The Outreach Officer will be primarily responsible of the following activities:

• Introduce the project/s to local stakeholders (municipalities, cooperatives, etc.) and explain the activities that will be implemented
• Lease with the local stakeholders (municipalities, cooperatives, etc.) to propose a list of potential project beneficiaries with a set of pre-identified criteria (age, household size, land surface, etc.)
• Conduct vulnerability assessment to identify vulnerable producers/farmers falling within a list of pre-identified selection criteria
• Prepare daily vulnerability assessment reports and propose correction measures to address field challenges
• Conduct pre-support additional verification field visits to assess readiness of potential beneficiaries to utilize the assets that will be provided
• Organize the distribution of assets to selected beneficiaries and prepare associated reports
• Conduct post-support inspection field visits to measure impacts and provide additional technical recommendations to maintain the assets provided
• Relocate or face a longer commute as and when required
