Funding Manager – Lebanon

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Donor Relations Management:

  • Support the PFM in developing and maintaining efficient donor relations with the representatives of relevant funding partners to secure funding for the country programme.
  • Keep up to date with trends and analyse institutional donor funding opportunities for Lebanon in order to provide advice for the rest of the Lebanon team.
  • Represent Medair in meetings with donors online, in-person, and at specific project visits.

Grant Management:

  • Coordinate and track institutional and private donor proposals and reports, managed by the PFM and in consultation with senior management.
  • Ensure that applications and reports are produced to a high standard, comply with donor guidelines, deadlines, contracts, and other donor needs and requests.
  • Coordinate with programme teams to ensure proposals and reports are completed in a timely way, including both writing and reviewing.
  • Maintain an overview of the assigned programme’s relationships with, and funding from, Medair’s key institutional donors, providing analysis and information to senior management where necessary.
  • In collaboration with Project Managers and the MEAL Managers; assess adherence to targets (financial and beneficiary) and report any areas of concern to the PFM.
  • Maintain appropriate information systems including contract tracking, reporting schedules, portfolio project and grant cards and other donor-specific data.

Team Coordination:

  • Coordinate with the PFM, project teams and senior management about the funding needs of the Lebanon programme.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with all relevant staff when a new call for proposals is published or when reports are due.
  • Lead meetings to discuss proposal activities, develop logframes and organise responsibilities for new proposals.

Person Specification:

  • Degree in a field that incorporated critical analysis.

  • Knowledge of models used by the humanitarian sector (e.g. Logframes, theory of change).
  • Experience in collaborating with multiple teams across an organisation.
  • Experience in written presentation of information.
  • Fluent English – both spoken and written.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Moderate typing speed
  • Experience using institutional donor online system (e.g. OCHA GMS).
  • Passion for and understanding of humanitarian issues.
  • Keen to share information internally and contribute.
  • Self-starter while being a team player.
  • Diplomatic.
  • Experience in cross-cultural communication.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner.
  • Ability to relate and establish good rapport well with many kinds of people.
  • Highly organised with a good attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Experience of maintaining grant management systems.
