Basmeh and Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.
Basmeh & Zeitooneh (B&Z) is hiring a GBV Case Worker to be based full-time in Beirut at B&Z Community Center in Shatila.
Reports To: Case Management Supervisor.
Job Purpose :
Act according to the guiding principles of GBV case management including survivor-centered approach, responsible for the provision of quality psychosocial first Aid, case management including direct counseling to GBV survivors, respect of confidentiality, prioritize according to safety concerns, ‘do not harm’, ensure a non-discriminatory approach, ensure accountability, respect professional boundaries and avoid conflict of interest.
Major Activities :
- Detect, counsel, and follow up individual cases identified by the B&Z team or referred by other agencies; or through community services and protection monitors where applicable.
- In compliance with best-practice and international standards in GBV response, provide direct psychosocial support for vulnerable women and girls, men and boys, and particularly GBV survivors. At all times, ensure the safety of the survivor, in addition to the confidentiality of his/her information and his/her right to access services without any discrimination.
- Provide case management services through high-quality and confidential interventions in line with minimum standards for service provision. This will include assessment of needs, development of an action plan for recovery, development of a safety plan when needed, conducting referrals to relevant services, implementing the action plan, and ensuring appropriate follow-up and case closure when appropriate.
- The case management process should be implemented through a survivor-centered approach through which the intervention is guided by the survivor and empowering him/her to access their rights, regain control over their lives and restore dignity.
- Ensure coordination and synergy with the main service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing;
- File and store GBV data while ensuring the utmost confidentiality of case management data and information throughout the case management process; including protection referrals
- Provide age-appropriate counseling for vulnerable adolescent girls and children through the implementation of tools developed for caring for child survivors and in the best interest of the child.
- Ensure close coordination with PSS teams in order to ensure survivors, children, and their caregivers are referred from case management too focused and Community Based PSS and vice-versa.
- Advocate with different institutions and services providers to help the survivors to access needed resources and services.
- Provide daily and weekly updates to the Protection officer about new cases assessed.

- Excellent knowledge of GBV, child protection and PSS basic principles
Excellent knowledge of GBV and CP case management principles
Excellent knowledge of child development and adult learning techniques - Ensuring that beneficiaries have access to the appropriate service.
- Ensuring that the Foundation’s team interacts with beneficiaries within the principles of the B&Z, especially preserving dignity and avoiding psychological harm.
- Achieving the required number of beneficiaries at the end of the program while ensuring the quality of work.
- Create positive communication with the team.
Education & Experience:
- University degree in a related field e.g. Social Work, Psychology or equivalent
- Minimum 3 year of relevant work experience
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel)
- Reporting skills
