Child Protection and Referral Consultant

The Child Protection and Referral Specialist provides technical guidance and oversight on implementation across INITIATE’s child protection portfolio in Lebanon. The position holder is expected to work closely with the field and the technical team to identify capacity gaps and support teams in ensuring high quality programs implementing child protection aspects

     Main Duties:

• Review of existing policies on child protection and safeguarding
• Training for staff on Child Safeguarding and Child protection principles
• Training of trainers for INITIATE field team that will enable them to deliver trainings to partners and beneficiaries.
• Work closely with INITIATE management to create and develop child safeguarding training content.
• Monitoring the field team and mentoring them on delivering child safeguarding trainings to partner organizations and beneficiaries.
• Drafting the necessary tools to implement child safeguarding activities and continue to monitor its implementation throughout the lifespan of the project.
• Create and train staff on a referral system
• Create the necessary tools to implement referrals
• Supervise referral system implementation throughout the lifespan of the project
• Deliver the tools and the strategies for creating a referral system for our staff.

• Regular field visits to monitor implementation of programs and to provide technical guidance.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

•  Bachelor degree in social work, psychology, child protection, or related field or equivalent experience;
•  5-10 years of experience in direct implementation of CP programming with children, adolescents/youth and/or caregivers or relevant experience.
• Experience providing technical support and management CP programs.
• Proven written communication skills
• Proven ability to lead collaboratively.
• Demonstrated knowledge of development and humanitarian crisis impact on children’s protection, health, education, and overall well-being;
• Strong English and Arabic communication and writing skills are essential
• Adhere to Child Safeguarding policies & procedures
• Computer literacy including Internet, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
