Dual/ Co-Coordination for the Project "ArtEvolution"

at the Goethe-Institut Libanon

Scope of employment: 50% = currently 21 hours per week

Payment according to local salary scheme

We are looking for a dedicated colleague for the joint co - coordination of the project "ArtEvolution" from 01.03.2022 (or later) until 31.12.2022, with the option of extension.

The Goethe-Institut is the globally active cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation.

The project "ArtEvolution", supported through the Ta’ziz partnership fund of the German Foreign Office, is a program for the promotion of artists in the field of performing arts and related disciplines.

The main tasks are

• Independent overall dual/ co-coordination of the program "ArtEvolution" and implementation of all program components based on the project concept:
• Call for proposals and monitoring of a support program for up-coming artists lasting several months
• Jury procedure for the selection of participating artists
• Preparation of an intensive training for artists at Hammana Artist House
• Conception and realization of topic-related public events (round tables) with the participation of experts from the region as well as from Germany
• Organization of a visit trip for scholarship holders to a festival in Germany
• Coordination and implementation of a public exhibition of works
• Handling the contractual and financial aspects of the overall project, including monitoring the expenditure of funds as well as cost plan adjustments and regular reporting to the institute's management.
• Coordinate all project-related communication on various platforms (website, social media, press, etc.) and manage external service providers.
• Networking and maintaining contacts with participating partner institutions in Lebanon as well as in Germany.

Requirements

• Proven in-depth professional experience in project management (conception, implementation, evaluation) in the arts & culture sector
• Existing work permit for and professional base in Lebanon
• Very good knowledge of the current Lebanese cultural scene, especially in the field of performing arts and related disciplines
• Sensitivity for international cultural exchange
• Affinity for new ways of joint coordination, as well of mediation and communication
• Good IT skills (MS-Office) and willingness to familiarize yourself with relevant programs (e.g. project planning software of the Goethe-Institut)
• Very good knowledge of English and Arabic, knowledge of German is an advantage
• Ability to work in a team and reliability as well as high commitment, flexibility and resilience
• Professional experience in controlling/monitoring of budgets
• Willingness to work outside regular working hours and project-related business travel
