World Learning – QITABI 2: Lead Learning Facilitator Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” QITABI 2 Program Background USAID’s “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” (QITABI 2) is a five-year program seeking to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools in Lebanon. Its activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools. World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “Lead Learning Facilitator” for the USAID-funded Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI II) in Lebanon. This position is for a Lebanese national. Scope and Responsibilities The Lead Learning facilitator will act as a focal point between QITABI 2 Learning Facilitators and the Regional Coordinator. Under the guidance of the Regional Coordinator, s/he will coach, supervise and follow up on the day-to-day activities of Learning Facilitators to ensure quality, accurate, and timely delivery of field tasks. In addition, he will be responsible for compiling data, documenting, and writing needed reports for the Regional Coordinator on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. The Lead Learning Facilitator will also maintain his/her duties as QITABI 2 field member and project reference in several schools including: • Acting as a facilitator for various project activities related to face-to-face, distance, and blended learning at the school level • Working closely with DOPS mentors and Subject Matter Coordinators to improve quality of teaching and learning in any of its modalities • Collaborating with school staff (principals, teachers, and administrators) and parents to facilitate learning and provide necessary support to improve the learning environment at the school and create a community of learners. This includes Arabic and English Literacy or Arabic and French Literacy, math and numeracy, technology literacy, social emotional learning, parents’ learning circles and parental engagement, data collection, data entry and verification, logistics, resources and teaching and learning materials (TLMs) distribution and dissemination • Helping create a collaborative environment among school administrators’ teachers, parents, and communities at large • Liaising with the local community to map the services available in his cluster and update it regularly and be able to support with referrals when applicable • Supporting SMCs, teachers and parents with resources and provide synchronous and asynchronous coaching support • Acting as a mediator to resolve arising conflicts with the objective to facilitate program implementation • Reporting to the Regional Coordinator on activities, progress, and challenges • Performing additional tasks as needed and requested by the Regional Coordinator or the Director of Programs, including support of other WL projects. Required Qualifications: • 6 years and above working in a school setting. • Bachelor’s degree in Education and/or having a teaching diploma or relevant degree. Master’s degree is an advantage. • Experience in applying formative assessment, teacher’s appraisal and coaching support. • Experience in distance learning is an advantage. • Excellent computer skills (outlook, excel, word, PowerPoint, video conferencing and online learning platforms) • Excellent Arabic, and as a second language excellent French or English • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Knowledgeable of the community they live in and its geography and needs • Able to transport easily within one governorate • Assess challenges and make advised decision • Capacity to implement work plans • Capacity to prioritize and good planning skills • Capacity to work with different group of people • Capacity to report with evidence on indicators • Knowledgeable of the current education challenges World Learning is an equal employment opportunity committed to increasing the diversity of its workforce.
