YOUTH PROJECT MANAGER

Objective 1: Contributes to the implementation of TDH IT Policies, Procedures and Strategy.

  • Ensures the application of the TDH IT Strategy and Policies in the scope and area of work, relying on the different TDH IT documents (charter, strategic planning document, donor contracts, technical guidance for education/CP activities, financial, HR and procurement policies …)
  • Participates in the definition of the new strategy of TDH IT, together with the Program and technical team.

Objective 2: Participates in the planning and execution of the Youth Project

  • Develop project targets, workplans, and any other required planning documents;
  • Assists the team with his or her expertise in the domain;
  • Lead relationship and follow-up with implementing partners;
  • Support identification of new partners;
  • Develops operational guidelines when required for the project;
  • Plans ahead the downsizing and recruitment needs of the staff;
  • Deploys the TDH standards and procedures within the project;
  • Liaises with the Support Functions when needed.

Objective 3:  Manage and oversee the key staff in charge of the planning and implementation of the project activities

  • General team oversight
  • Budget holder for spendings related to youth project; responsible for financial planning and monitoring;
  • Support recruitment process for all new staff required;
  • Participates in the recruitment of new team members when needed;
  • Ensures all the staff have clear work objectives and support;
  • Organizes regular team meeting when needed;
  • Responsible of the appraisal process for the team.

Objective 4:  Coordination with Delegation and Technical team

  • Regular interaction with the Head of Programs and Program team, to ensure effective communication on the project updates and challenges;
  • Regular Communication with the Education Specialist, CP Specialist and Inclusion Specialist to request the needed technical support to ensure education team is adequately supported in the provision of non-formal education activities throughout all the steps.
  • Coordinate with other technical colleagues (inclusion, Education team, CP team, gender team) to ensure implementation of all activities in line with donor and TDH IT requirements.
  • Ensure close coordination with other Project Managers (Beirut-Mount Lebanon; North Bekaa; Palestinian program) to ensure coherence and complementarity of intervention.

Objective 5: Representation & Coordination

  • Upon request from supervisors, ensures and coordinates the sectorial representation (e.g. Education Working Group, UNICEF) in the area which he/she is responsible for among partners, donors, authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Ensures an efficient coordination with the other components of the project;
  • Close coordination with other teams in the area of implementation to promote integration of interventions and joint collaboration with implementing partners and stakeholders;
  • When needed, facilitate donor visits to areas of implementation.

Objective 6: Monitoring and evaluation.

  • Coordinates with the M&E staff to ensure the continuous monitoring of the activities under management including qualitative and quantitative monitoring;
  • Ensures that proper policy, standards & codes of conduct are enforced.

Objective 7: Capitalization, reports and communication

  • Assists the Program manager and/or the Country delegate in providing sufficient and detailed information for program reporting for donors and HQ;
  • In charge of the weekly and monthly project reports, as requested by line manager;
  • Lead preparation of donor’s reports;
  • Shares with the Head of Programs and technical specialists all the needed information for the technical follow up of the project.

Diploma, Education Level & Minimum Experience

  • Bachelor or Master in Education or Management;
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar position;
  • Experience in INGO is a plus;
  • Experience with local NGOs and partners desirable;
  • Experience working with refugee populations and vulnerable groups desirable;
  • Previous experience working for Youth interventions, Education or Child Protection sectors desirable.

Required Knowledge & Competencies.

  • Full proficiency in Excel, Power point and Word;
  • Full Knowledge of the project management cycle;
  • English and Arabic.
  • Soft Skills: Diplomacy, Networking, Leadership, Management of a team, Communication, Autonomy, Short and Long Term Planning, Pedagogy, Ability to train others and Capacity building, Adaptable, Ability to work under stressful situation.
  • Understanding of the job market in Education
  • Driving License;
