Capacity Building Officer-Part time

Terre des hommes- Lausanne is seeking for a qualified 2 part-time Capacity Building Officers, responsible for capacity building activities in Palestinian Camps.

 

The Capacity Building Officer is responsible to:

  • Support the building and development of capacities for local partner’s staff and members of 11 Women’s Committees, faith-based actors and Palestinian Security Forces on different thematics such as (leadership skills, mediation techniques, project planning, gender justice, child friendly justice, restorative approach) through training workshops and coaching (remotely/online and in person);
  • Support the planning, organization and implementation of community led initiatives and networking events;
  • Contribute to the development of a comprehensive capacity building package, toolkits and materials in both English and Arabic languages and ensure dissemination of the packages;
  • In coordination with M&E Department, develop tools in order to assess the impact of the capacity building component;

 

Under the management of the Program Manager, the Senior Capacity Building Officer will perform the following tasks:

 

Delivery of Capacity Building Activities:

  • Coordinate and delivery the capacity-building activities (i.e., organizing the meetings, organizing training, workshops for the mentioned partner and actors).
  • Monitor and review progress in the implementation of capacity building activities, including design of evaluation frameworks.
  • Maintain an archive of key documents and keep records concerning capacity building activities for reporting purposes;
  • Deliver and facilitate training and workshops;

 

Training Resource Information Management and Development:

  • Contribute to the development of a comprehensive capacity building package, toolkits and materials in both English and Arabic languages and ensure dissemination of the packages.
  • Support the construction and maintenance of a complete and extensive training resource data base, which should include, at the minimum, a list of training venues, external training resource people/organizations, logistical support actors for training, etc
  • Keep accurate training records that are comprehensive and up-to-date.
  • With the support of the Senior Communication Officer, get involved in the development of a Tdh library (electronic and hard copies) on training and coaching methodologies, practices, and topics of interest to Tdh Lebanon.

 

Organisational Policies:

  • Respect the Tdh’s Global Code of Conduct (GCD), Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), Prevention from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Policy (PSEA) and Policy on Gender and Diversity and its principles of child protection, ensuring the policy’s implementation and prompt notification of the CSP/PSEA Focal Point with any information regarding potential breaches of the policy;
  • Is aware of, abide by and promote the practices and values set out in all other Tdh policies and procedures such as the Internal Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures and other policies;
  • Participate actively in weekly and monthly coordination meetings with the Senior Capacity Building Officer and Programme Manager;
  • Undertake all other duties that may be requested by the line-manager and that are compatible with the job;

 

Job Qualifications, and competencies:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Psychology, social work…). Master’s degree will be an asset.

 

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in humanitarian work in Child Protection, Gender Based Violence& Mental Health Psychosocial Support;
  • Excellent knowledge in adult learning
  • At least 2 years of experience in implementing capacity building plans.
  • Experience of 2 years in facilitating training, workshops with a large group of participants;
  • At least one year of experience in training design;
  • Familiar with CP minimum standards’

  • Fluent in English and Arabic.

Location/ Travel: 1 position based in Beirut and 1 position based in Tyre, frequent travels to all the Palestinian Camps in Lebanon.

Starting date: March 2022

Duration of contract: 10 months until December 2022.
