Search for a professional to conduct training of trainers (ToT) in Dairy Production

The VTE4all project financed by the EU and implemented by GIZ, is designed to support Lebanon in the context of the protracted displacement crisis providing job-related competences for vulnerable Lebanese, Syrians and Palestinians. The main project approach is participatory and based on capacity development which aims to empower key stakeholders in Vocational and Technical Education. The project activity consists in developing curricula of Competency Based Training (CBT) modules in at least two sectors (different from construction). The selection of the sectors was made in a way to cover the needs of the local market and the CBT modules are delivered as short-term courses in the afternoon in a public school of the Directorate General of Vocational and Technical Education DGVTE and in the morning as a Travaux Pratique (TP) in the frame of a secondary technical education. The two sectors initially selected are furniture manufacturing and food production.

Outline of the mission

The professional is required to deliver training of trainers (ToT) for one or more of the below mentioned CBT module. Each ToT is up to 5 working days from 14:00 to 18:00.

S/he will be informed 10 days before the start date of the CBT module delivery.

Here below the list of the 3 CBT modules some of which might be covered with ToT training:

  1. CBT1 Making Lebanese dairy mouneh, butter and ghee
  2. CBT2 Making Lebanese cheeses
  3. CBT3 Making international cheeses

Considering the social and economic conditions in Lebanon, it can happen that the plan will have disruptions and no CBT modules can be delivered. Therefore, the number of editions expected to be delivered by the expert can vary and can be also none. Considering that a professional in the dairy production sector can deliver more than one but not all the listed CBT modules, the specific CBT modules will be specified in the awarded contract. Considering that when a training is planned it is extremely difficult to postpone, therefore it is intended to have two professionals contracted to deliver the same CBT module, just in case that something unexpected happens to the trainer at the last minute.

 

Requirements:

Qualifications and skills

  • Culinary arts degree or diploma or bachelor’s degree in a food science or alternatively 4 years of additional general professional experience. (One or the other will be considered as minimum requirement).
  • Fluency in Arabic language (minimum requirement).
  • Fluency in English language (preferred requirement).
  • Fluency in French language (preferred requirement).
  • Excellent planning and communication skills (minimum requirement).
  • Excellent team leading skills (minimum requirement).
  • Basic use of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent open-source packages (minimum requirement).
  • Basic browser use (minimum requirement).

 

General professional experience

  • At least 6 years of experience as a supervisor in a dairy production facility (minimum requirement).
  • At least 2 years of experience working in international projects (preferred requirement).

 

Specific professional experience

  • At least 4 years of working experience in a specific occupation of dairy production (preferred requirement).
  • At least 2 years of working experience in designing and delivering vocational training practice-oriented courses to adults (preferred requirement).
