Social Worker

First Step Together Association is looking for a Social Worker to work as full time job.

The purpose of FISTA’s activities is to protect, educate and ensure respect for children with disabilities independently from any political, financial or military objective and making no distinctions on the basis of nationality, race, gender, religious belief, class or political opinions.

FISTA’s Vision is a community, where each individual with disability is entitled his full rights.

 

The Social worker main duties:

 

  • Monitors services delivered to the client to ensure that individual needs are met

     

     

     

  • Interviews beneficiaries and prepares statements summarizing the patient’s perception of the problem

     

  • Collects information from the family’s beneficiaries, community agencies and others to be used by treatment team staff

     

  • Coordinates with staff in the development, implementation and evaluation of the target groups individual plan service

     

  • Meets with representatives of community agencies and other NGOs to assist in the development of community support services

     

  • Provides the patient’s family with information regarding his progress and treatment 

     

  • Attends and participates actively in regular meetings, seminars and trainings 

     

  • Presents a written auto-evaluation each 3 months 

     

  • Manages case work 

     

  • Assesses beneficiaries’ psychosocial needs 

     

  • Communicates regularly with beneficiaries regarding case management 

     

  • Prepares, with the collaboration of the project coordinator, all tools concerning social files

     

  • Undertakes and writes assessments which meet specified standards and timescales 

     

  • Conducts interviews with beneficiaries and their families to assess and review their situation 

     

  • Offers information and counseling support to beneficiaries and their families 
    makes referral to other agencies 

     

  • Participates in multidisciplinary teams and meetings 

     

  • Participates in team meetings, peer supervisions and case studies 

     

  • Undergoes individual supervision when needed 

     

  • Takes over the hotline 

     

  • Maintains records and prepares reports and correspondence related to work as assigned under the supervision of the project coordinator 

     

  • Do home visits for specific reasons (observing family dynamic, relation between the family members, communication...) 

     

  • Collects and inputs data 

 

 

Qualifications & skills

  • Follows FISTA center policies and by laws
  •  Believes in concepts of human rights
  •  Respects each team member’s position
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High time management skills..
  • Ability to work independently or with a team.
  • English, Arabic are a must. French is a plus
