PROJECT MANAGER

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in environmental sciences/engineering, natural resources management, economics, policy, sustainable development, or related field;
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in consulting and technical assistance services;
  • At least 2 years of experience in leading or supporting business capture and proposal development efforts;
  • Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects, fostering teamwork and producing high-quality deliverables within allocated time and budget resources;
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities;
  • Excellent written skills in English, particularly those associated with concise and compelling reporting and/or proposal writing; and
  • Strong oral communication skills in English; proficiency in a relevant foreign language a plus (e.g., French).

 

Description of the Position:

The Project Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:

 

  1. Project Implementation and Management
    1. Carry out and manage the implementation of various projects and assignments including -but not limited to- IEEs, EIAs, EAs, SEAs, environmental strategies, workshops, public sessions, training, and technical assistance to Clients
    2. Define project scope and objectives
    3. Ensure proper implementation of quality assurance and quality control for collection of data
    4. Conduct data analysis and report writing
    5. Prepare scopes of work for consultants
    6. Manage resource availability and allocation for the flawless execution of projects
    7. Provide quality control of deliverables making sure they meet the firms’ quality standards
    8. Manage the submissions of deliverables within scope, time, and budget
    9. Manage project budgets
    10. Plan and schedule invoices to clients and payments to sub-contractors
    11. Establish and maintain relationships with clients and all stakeholders
    12. Perform other related duties as assigned
  2. New Business / Proposal Development
    1. Maintain strong professional relations with relevant government organizations, lending institutions, and other clients
    2. Nurture networks of contacts to learn about new business opportunities before they are announced publicly
    3. Track new project opportunities, including calls for Expressions of Interest (EOI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) from various sources according to ECODIT’s line of services
    4. Carry out and manage proposal development, including preparation of technical and financial proposals
    5. Conduct teaming and recruiting for new opportunities
    6. Develop and maintain professional relations as well as identify new business opportunities with local and regional firms and organizations with which ECODIT may partner
  3. Administrative Work
    1. Respond to enquiries, including phone calls, emails, and face to face encounters
    2. Manage and coordinate meetings, take minutes of meetings when needed, and oversee calendars
    3. Maintain proper paperwork activities
    4. Develop and update administrative systems to make them more efficient
    5. Perform other related duties as assigned
  4. Other Functions
    1. Provide assistance to senior staff
    2. Contribute to team/staff development by coaching and mentoring junior staff
    3. Participate in annual performance appraisals of other staff

The Project Manager will be based in ECODIT Liban’s office in Baabda and will report to the ECODIT Liban Director. S/he will be expected to comply with ECODIT Liban’s Code of Business Ethics and Conduct.

Compensation:

  • Gross Annual Salary based on merit and experience
  • Transportation: Monthly Allowance
  • Medical Health Insurance: Yearly Allowance
  • National Social Security Fund (NSSF)
  • Personal Vacation: 15 days per year
  • Official Holidays: 15 days per year
  • Annual Bonus: 0 to 10% of Annual Salary depending on both the candidate and ECODIT performance
