Food Distribution Project Manager

Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.

Job Purpose: The Project Manager for Food Distribution is responsible for managing the distribution operations and functions in Beirut and Mount Lebanon (BML). The Coordinator will supervise the field coordinators to ensure that the donor's commodity is properly managed and distributed, to provide necessary reporting to the donor, and to ensure filed teams receive the required logical support. The project coordinator will be based in Basmeh & Zeitooneh community center in (Bourj Hammoud).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for the day-to-day running as well as the management of the WFP Food Distribution Program.
• Manage a team of 4 field coordinators and 40 field daily coordinators.
• Conduct ongoing rapid risk assessment and follow up with other stakeholders according to need
• Ensure the project team has a clear understanding of the context and is clear on the objectives of the project and how they are to be achieved.
• To identify and coordinate with related stakeholders necessary to facilitate the distribution process (Municipalities, Army, etc) and coordinate with them for delivery of food Parcels
• Prepare beneficiaries lists in compliance with donor’s needs. Ensure that proper and accurate distribution plans are prepared in advance to enhance efficient operations. Proper and adequate logistical arrangements must be made in conjunction with the distribution plans.
• Lead the distribution of Food parcels as per donor’s requirements and plans. Ensure execution and leadership of the following activities:

1. Ensure high-quality implementation of the program, on-time vs budget
2. Liaise with WFP to develop and implement monthly and weekly plans for the teams, and to resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner
3. Oversee the transportation of goods from WFP warehouse to Basmeh & Zeitooneh warehouse and to each distribution sites
4. Supervise Inventory of goods that arrive from WFP warehouse and reconciliation, ensuring proper storage conditions of received goods.
5. Supervise physically the food distribution on the field sites.
6. Follow-up the MEAL plan and project indicators, in coordination with MEAL Department;
7. Support the project staff underline management in integrating MEAL activities
8. Ensure the safety and dignity of the project participants .

Reporting:

• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports for inclusion in internal and external as per donor requirements.
• Writing technical reports, project briefs for various stakeholders.
