Protection and Livelihood Program Coordinator

Description: 

The Protection and Livelihood Program Coordinator will be responsible of the coordination of the Livelihood and Protection programs implemented at Amel, facilitating the cooperation with and among the relevant Project, Technical and Support Coordinators and liaising with the Executive Management.

 

S/he will also contribute to Amel's representation in the relevant coordination fora such as the core groups and will advocate for humanitarian issues, principles and concerns with a special focus on protection.  

 

The Candidate must have previous experience with NGOs in projects management in the protection and/or livelihood sector.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Project management
  • Overview the implementation of the projects as per the donors / partners agreements
  • Design, plan and follow-up on the implementation of the projects
  • Ensure the timely submission of donor reports
  • Contribute to designing and drafting project proposals
  • Ensure the smooth implementation of the activities in coordination with the field and project’s coordinators
  • Work closely with procurement, finance and HR departments
  • Contribute to:

Develop budget and forecast, and review the financial reports in collaboration with the finance team

Monitor, evaluate and suggest changes and improvements in programs based on observations, feedback from the team and the partners

Ensure proper documentation, tracking and filing of all project’s activities in collaboration with the field teams

 

  1. Program quality delivery
  • Oversee the quality of implementation of the protection and livelihood activities
  • Review all reports prepared and provide feedback to the team
  • Contribute to development of lessons learning / capitalization exercise and analysis of data
  • Develop capacity-building strategies to mainstream protection in all activities
  • Conduct and support monitoring of the activities through frequent visits to the Centers
  1. Representation and coordination
  • Participate and represent Amel in Protection and Livelihood Working Groups meeting and other relevant coordination meetings
  • Arrange regular meetings with donors and partners to discuss the program implementation
  • Ensure protection principles and guidelines are disseminated to the field
  • Collect data from Amel’s centers related to the Protection situation
  • Strengthen the internal and external referral mechanism and ensure proper referral and follow-up with cases
  • Conduct regular visits with field staff to ensure protection principles are applied

Master degree in political sciences, international relations, social sciences or another related field
At least 4 years’ experience in coordinating and managing protection and/or livelihood projects. Previous experience in managing health and education and / or multisectoral projects are an asset.
Excellent organizational and managerial skills;
Excellent written and reporting skills
Experience in internal and external coordination and representation of programs
Good knowledge of humanitarian principles and protection framework
Experience with participatory approaches and working with vulnerable groups
Good communication, teamwork and leadership skills
Ability to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary environment;
Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in utilization of databases and Microsoft Office
