Livelihoods Field Assistant (ERR)

Under the overall supervision of the National Program Officer (Emergency, Recovery and Resilience Unit), in close coordination with the Team Leader (Tripoli and the North) and with the direct supervision of the Senior Livelihoods Assistant, the incumbent will be responsible for the following activities:

 

  1. Assist in the implementation of project activities, including regular coordination with external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, and process and follow-up on administrative actions necessary for operational delivery. 
  2. Support in project coordination and monitoring, involving liaison with other field-office focal points and IOMs Monitoring and Evaluation functions.
  3. Ensure that the distributions of related tools, equipment, and cash assistance are monitored for both quality and quantity and that relationship management with local key stakeholders is maintained in project locations.
  4. Draft operational status reports, specific to livelihood activities identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.
  5. Support in the implementation and verification of targeted data collection exercises related to local labour and market assessments.
  6. Support in the appropriate selection of individuals of target populations by conducting interviews, entering data for registration, and retrieving applicant profiles for verification using specific tools and eligibility criteria.
  7. Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
  8. Travel to project sites on a regular basis to monitor activities are carried out in accordance with operational guidelines and provide general feedback to adapt and improve, raising any complex issues with supervisors
  9. Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions.
  10. Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

• School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.

• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
