Application Submission Guidelines

Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.

Job Purpose: The facilitator will be responsible to implement the peace education activities, the PSS and PE sessions with parents, and offer tailored PE sessions to women or youths committee members with high quality, including all preparatory tasks, outreach, and preparing and executing social initiatives done by the children or the committees.

Major Activities :

  • Participating in door-to-door outreach for children and parents, youths, and women committees in the region and informing about the project.
  • Ensuring the enrolment and registration of participants in the different project activities and sessions.
  • Participating in the training, seminars, and workshops organized by BWZ and external actors.
  • Preparing for the session activities and planning with the co-facilitator of the group well ahead of the start of the sessions.
  • Make sure to have all material available for the activities at all times and ensure that the materials are securely restored.
  • Implementing peace education activities based on the children ‘s ages, situation, and according to B&Z’s peace education curriculum.
  • Positively interacting with participants and encouraging them to express their feelings, needs, stories and ensuring their safety.
  • Supporting participants in creating social initiatives within the community towards the end of the project, through clear plans, and with youths and women committees through clear suggestions and their respective budgets.
  • Participating in internal weekly meetings regarding the activities of the project; challenges, progress, successes, and lessons learned.
  • Collecting and reporting all information relative to the activities to the Project Manager.
  • Following up with participants, by communicating with them to ensure that they do not forget their sessions and attend regularly.
  • Under the guidance of the project manager and the M&E officer, conducting participatory monitoring activities to collect participants’ feedback and opinions on the quality of the sessions and the impact of the project.
  • Communicating clear and relevant information regarding services and activities provided in the project in order to achieve the target.

  • Promoting a non-violent and peaceful environment at work
  • Contributing to the growth of B&Z
  • Attending external training to improve skills and build capacity
  • Provide positive contribution to B&Z community center

  • Preparations of Sessions (Materials, schedule ….)
  • Quality of sessions
  • Collaboration between the team members.
  • Respect the rules of work and follow policies.

Education & Experience:

  • At least one to a few years of experience in working directly with children, youths, or women in psycho-social support, peacebuilding, or related activities.
  • Knowledge on how to deal with children with difficulties (socially, psychologically, emotionally, and physically)
  • Knowledge about and familiarity with the context of the area of implementation particularly pertaining to, children, parents, youth, and women’s needs.
  • Degree in (attained or in process of attaining) Psychology, Social Work, or related fields.

  • Experience in working in a team.
  • Knowledgeable about the context, history, and situation of the area of implementation
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Strength in interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage stress, be flexible and accommodating in difficult working circumstances
  • Ability to maintain consistently high standards of professional behavior and achievement when working independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility in working hours and willingness to work in volatile environments.
