The gender electoral expert is entitled within a period of two month to:
- Develop and adapt LADE’s methodology in the upcoming parliamentary elections to shed light on gender participation in the democratic process.
- Assess the current political context as well as the effects it has on women participation in the democratic processes.
- Assess the legal framework which could impact women participation i.e. international and regional norms, national legal framework as well the electoral system and electoral administration’s inclusiveness of women.
- Mainstream a gender perspective into the electoral process by monitoring the extent to which women are included in the process by developing the respective monitoring tools.
- Elaborate gender election monitoring criteria for pre-election (including electoral campaigns).
- Help in developing the adequate monitoring forms in collaboration with the operation manager as well as the design of the data management system to be used.
Education
- BA Degree in public administration, political science, NGO management or any related field.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic. French is an asset.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in gender related issues.
- Strong background & expertise in Electoral Law, Electoral Reform and Election Observation.
Computer
- Expert in main computer applications (Microsoft Office Application, mainly excel…).
