ACTED seeks to design a scalable solar PV system on the available space on the rooftop of 2 public schools. The facility includes classes, administrative departments, and activities spaces of total load consumptions a to be identified through the study. The design shall include the assessment of the existing system installed, and what is needed to upgrade the system into an Off-Grid system fully functional and fulfils the needs of the schools using the existing number of solar panels in place, in addition to provide ACTED with the cost and item needed in order to fully fulfil the school load.

 The consultant is expected to deliver a Detailed design with all specifications and estimated  pricing to upgrade the systems to off grid

1. Key Deliverables:

1. Conduct a visit to the selected public schools (Mount Lebanon and Beirut districts), for 2 visits per scholl, to assess the existing electrical works and the existing PV system components, and share conclusions about their functionality and any non-functional aspects.  The assessment should also conclude on the type of system in place (on grid or off grid) and include a detailed listing of the materials that are specific to on-grid systems and cannot be adapted to off-grid systems.
2. Design a solar PV Off-Grid system including the inverter specifications taking into account the existing components from the old system in place, with all specifications and estimated cost-efficient pricing to upgrade the systems to off grid.
3. Finalize ACTED’s technical specification template, and provide additional documentation as relevant including simulations, designs, renders etc.

2. Required competencies:

1. Required degree in Electrical engineering or related fields.
2. Demonstrated experience design and installation of Solar PV systems
3. Required competency in English and Arabic. Knowledge of French an added advantage.
