Background
(Taawon) Welfare Association is an independent non-profit organization established in 1983 by a group of Palestinian business and intellectual figures to provide development and humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the West Bank, Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, 1948 Areas, and the Palestinian communities in Lebanon.
Taawon aims to contribute to furthering the progress of the Palestinians, preserving their heritage and identity, supporting their culture and building civil society. Taawon is strongly rooted in the local Palestinian community in Lebanon, making it both a trusted partner and well-placed to respond to the community’s needs. In partnership with local NGOs, we implement projects in five sectors: Education, Community Development and Culture.
Scope of work:
(Taawon) Welfare Association – Lebanon is seeking to hire a Social Media Officer with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, as well as ability to develop complying and creative social media content.
The candidate hired for this position will need to work independently and use strong communication skills, must be able to manage deadlines and to work well in a driven and dedicated team.
Social Media Officer
- Develop, implement, and manage a social media strategy for Taawon
- Manage and maintain all social media platforms; manage day to day activity, and proper implementation of social media strategy
- Create compelling social media content in both English and Arabic
- Create a regular (or automatic) publishing schedule and updates for the different social media platforms of Taawon including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts
- Create, curate, and manage a balanced social media calendar supporting Taawon’s programs and updates
- Produce social media content from the field, including photos, stories, short videos that showcase Taawon’s work and interventions
- Promote content through social media campaigns, pitch ideas for new social media content
- Stay up to date with latest social media best practices, trends and technologies
- Measure key metrics, map out trends, review and analyze data of performance of social media platforms and write monthly reports; adjust plans and strategies to enhance performance and optimize reach
- Manage and expand social media community
- Monitor and moderate comments on social media posts, intervening as appropriate to answer questions and guide the conversation
- Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization for the website
- Use Google Analytics to assess trends and activity and monitor the website
- Coordinate with the Program team and communicate regularly with the Communication team at HQ
- Support partner organizations – as need be - on social media content generation for programs supported by Taawon
Requirements
- BS degree in Marketing, Communication and Media, or relevant field
- Proven work experience in the field of social media
- Familiarity and facility with mainstream social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to write simply with a conversational style in both Arabic and English.
- Experience in photography is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
- Ability to produce creative content (text, image, and video)
- Multitasker with strong planning ability. Enjoys organizing and strategic thinking skills.
