Functions:
Under CEPI:
- Supports in the technical and social assessments and selection of beneficiaries on this project;
- Follows up on the day-to-day project implementation and adheres to the donor policies and procedures;
- Follows up on the participant’s involvement in the project;
- Responsible for ensuring high quality visibility, communications and quality of service delivery;
- Keeps beneficiaries and stakeholders informed on progress and feedback mechanisms;
- Develops/coordinates water supply and water resources campaigns and trainings;
- Translates acquired awareness of beneficiaries and Stakeholders into an actual engagement;
- Conducts full community perception studies, database updates and subscription campaigns;
- Maintains a close follow up with the Project Manager to ensure proper allocation of resources, proper scheduling and coordination of staff, assets and beneficiaries;
- Prevents interruptions to service delivery by complying with, and enforcing, procedures.
Under PWG:
- Supports in operations and outreach to Stakeholders on the river basin management component;
- Coordinate hosting technical workshops and networking events;
- Maintains a close follow up with the Project Manager to ensure proper allocation of resources, proper scheduling and coordination of staff, assets and beneficiaries.
Internal Coordination
- Meets operational standards by contributing to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, and resolving problems; identifying system improvements in coordination with management;
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations;
- Submits weekly plans and daily activity reports to the line manager;
- Ensures accuracy of reported data, by following internal guidelines;
- Refers complaints and delays to relevant ACTED’s staff;
- Keeps line manager and Security officer informed about any security issues. Follow internal security guidelines;
- Keeps an accurate filling system;
- Participates in internal lessons learned workshops and project feedback.
Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries
The Officer is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner. Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED programme objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies. This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.
Knowledge, skills
- At least 2-year minimum experience of management;
- At least 2-year experience in humanitarian context;
- Knowledge in environment and water resources is a plus
- Fluent in Arabic, with written and verbal English skills and the ability to work in an international context;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills;
- Strong social media and visibility background
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Highly motivated and with a desire to work with local communities;
- Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people;
- Excellent knowledge of Greater Beirut area.
