Organizational Setting

The Canada-funded FAO project “Support to Women's Cooperatives and Associations in the Agri-food Sector of Lebanon" is implemented in coordination with the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture’s General Directorate of Agriculture and General Directorate of Cooperatives. The project supports 255 women's cooperatives, associations and informal groups through Cooperative Business Schools, building their capacities on business, gender equality and several soft skills like communication, negotiation, and ethics. The project will further support 150 women groups through cash and in-kind grants as well as cash for work allowing them implement their business.
The communication specialist will be highlighting the efforts and ideas of the 150 selected women groups by working on getting them recognized via corporate social media and in the traditional media, specifically highlighting the key role of FAO. The expert will help them start their journey from a marketing and social media perspective.

 

Reporting Lines

The selected candidate will be reporting to the:

•    FAO Representative
•    Project Manager
•    FAO Lebanon Communications Consultant

 

Technical Focus 

Communication arts, influencer engagement/management, marketing, content marketing, public relations, celebrity engagement, digital media advertising, web development and digital campaigns.


Tasks and responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative and the direct supervision of the Project Manager, in close collaboration with the FAO Lebanon Communication consultant and the project team, the incumbent will:

•    Produce short videos highlighting the work of FAO with the 150 cooperatives and disseminating them on social media and traditional media. The videos will have to be produced in Arabic based on FAO branding guidelines. 
Interviews will have to be transcribed in Arabic in the movie. 
•    The Consultant will have to group the movies based on his/her expertise / suggestions. The number of videos produced should be not less than 50 covering the 150 women groups. 8 to 10 movies covering 20 to 40 women groups can be produced per month
•    Proactively create editorial content (stories, photos, videos, images, etc.) 
•    Maintaining a web and social media calendar and content plans for  upcoming coverage schedules 
•    Actively engage with online audiences through social media channels 
•    Coordinate with media channels to assure an effective media coverage of selected activities/cooperatives
•    Covering events to be posted on Social Media
•    Provide Arabic and English copywriting 
•    Detailed Social Media campaign calendar

 


CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

 


Minimum Requirements    

•    At least 5 years of experience in the field of influencer engagement/management, marketing, content marketing, public relations, celebrity engagement,    digital media advertising, web development and digital campaigns
•    Experience with developing creative media content. 
•    Experience in leading social media platforms
•    Experience in video production and multimedia production
•    Experience in coordinating and securing media interviews
•    Experience in developing compelling content to generate response from audiences online in addition to the experience in reporting on qualitative and quantitative analytics; 
•    Proven commitment to implementing campaigns for the public good, including related to cooperatives, agriculture, women empowerment, sustainable development, rural development in the last three years.
•    Working knowledge of Arabic and English is a must
•    Experience working with the United Nations or other international organizations
•    Lebanese nationals or resident in the country with a regular work permit.
