Assistant Finance Officer - Treasury

Supports in managing cash flow position for the Field for different currencies for all portals including planning, forecasting for monthly needs, coordinating with HQ and ensuring availability of funds for all the Field requirements; ensures Field funding reports are prepared in advance in coordination with all stakeholders, reviews and approves needs as per requirements. Assists the Field Finance management team in managing relationships with banks for dealing with various products, including short term deposits, interest rates negotiation, investing surplus funds, managing cash restrictions due to internal and external factors and also to develop new products which helps in improving the agency banking management. Performs the foreign exchange currency buying and selling for local operation needs under the supervision of her/his management and the guidance from HQ, including obtaining quotation from different banks and ensuring necessary transactions are accounted in the accounting systems. Approves the receipt cheques or cash on behalf of the Agency; raises cash or bank receipt vouchers; deposits funds in bank or delivers as required and records all receipts. Responds to staff members, suppliers and contractors' queries regarding their claims, invoices, entitlements and outstanding balances. Reviews bank reconciliation with the General Accounts staff to ensure that bank balances recorded on the daily cash position report reflect the Agency's true liquidity position and enters cash receipt vouchers into General Ledger (GL) and Accounts Payable (AP) modules to account for all receipt of cash and cheques and monthly evident interest. Is the custodian of cash on hand (in Cashiers office) as part of Field emergency preparedness. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
