The Opportunity
The Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) Coordinator will ensure the effective technical and operational support and coordination of the regional DANIDA-funded project “Al Bawsala” to strengthen civil society actors to promote young people’s voice and participation at local and regional level. This is a multi-location, multi-sector programme with a focus on youth and civil society strengthening. The program is regional in nature, and is implemented both directly and with local partners.
The CSOs Coordinator will ensure day-to-day coordination and facilitation of different activities in Lebanon in coordination with the regional and country office and will contribute to the achievement of project results in addition to maintaining an overview of implementation and national partnerships.
S/He will work closely with Country Office team, partners, civil society actors (CSAs) and youth groups.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- Masters’ degree in Psychology, Social Science, Education, or other related fields.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
- At least five years’ experience in Youth and CSO programming.
- Experience planning, facilitating and monitoring program activities.
- Experience providing training & capacity building for CSO.
- Experience working in NGOs or in an emergency context.
- Experience in projects and team management including budget management and financial skills.
- Good planning and reporting skills.
- Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours, and work in an insecure volatile context.
- Regular identification and communication of risks including mitigation measures.
- Excellent training & facilitation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to plan strategically.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data and to develop data bases and data collection tools.
- Experience in community mobilization and in conducting outreach activities.
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
- Experience working at community level with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Prior experience in a similar position with a local or international NGO.
