Program/research assistant (Agriculture)

AgriDev sarl is currently implementing several humanitarian and development projects in Lebanon. It seeks to have on board a professional program/research assistant with an agriculture background to help conducting field agriculture research for several targeted value chains. The program/research assistant will be supporting in secondary and primary reviews/field work in addition to concept note/proposal development.

Objectives: The program/research assistant will be responsible for particular tasks related to the selection of the research methods, conducting primary data collection (focus groups, KIIs, etc.), monitoring research progress, communication with stakeholders involved in the project, as well as assistance in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.

Scope of work: The program/research assistant will be primarily responsible of the following activities:

• Support in developing research methods and data collection tools to study agriculture value chains designed under the current agriculture program
• Monitor and facilitate data collection on ground with outreach officers
• Conduct primary data collection when necessary
• Conduct secondary data review to prepare the field work
• Support in data analysis and report writing
• Transform findings into concept notes and support in proposal writing and development
• Support in identifying new call for proposals in the agriculture sectors
• Relocate or face a longer commute as and when required

Minimum qualifications:

• Proven work experience in humanitarian/development position with similar scope of work (3 years)
• Excellent research, writing and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of data collection tools (kobotoolbox, kobocollect, etc.)
• Excellent knowledge in conducting secondary data collection
• Excellent knowledge of Arabic and English languages
