  1.  Project Background

The Lebanon Community Support Program (CSP) is a multi-year project funded by USAID to support municipalities and underserved and vulnerable communities in providing better services and enhanced economic opportunities to improve lives and reduce tensions that contribute to conflict and violence, primarily in Lebanon’s North, South, and Bekaa regions.

  2.  Summary of Position

The University Partnership Officer will administer the application process for students from 11 Lebanese universities who are interested in conducting their internship at CSP and other USAID implementing partners.

  3.  Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive requests for interns from different CSP task orders and other USAID implementing partners.
  • Review internship scope of work and assess internship deliverables.
  • Prepare internship announcements to be sent to the Career Development Centers at the 11 universities with detailed internship scope of work and timeline and send to Partnerships Manager for review and approval.
  • Participate in the shortlisting of students, and the selection of interns.
  • Assist in the conduct of interviews with eligible undergraduate students/graduate fellows in the presence of the requesting implementing partner.
  • Process all needed HR paperwork for interns and facilitate the signature of internship agreement.
  • Review interns’ timesheets, internship completion reports, internship evaluations and process payments accordingly, under the guidance of the University Partnerships Manager.
  • Ensure that CSP’s HR Policy on Hiring Interns is properly being implemented across all USAID implementing partners.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by CSP’s Partnership Manager.

  4-Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least three years of work experience in the education sector in Lebanon on projects funded by international donors, with USAID-experience preferred.
  • Preferred experience in liaising among different stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse sets of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of USAID’s rules and regulations preferred.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English required.

  5-Location of the Assignment

The University Partnership Officer will be based in CSP’s main office in Beirut.

  6-Reporting

The University Partnership Officer will be reporting to CSP’s Partnership Manager.
