Web Developer

IWPR is seeking a qualified company to carry out upgrades and resolve existing bugs and issues for etihad-mena.org and provide ongoing maintenance for the website.

Scope of Work 

1. Improve website speed and functionality to achieve a better user experience

- Research and address the issues that are causing the site to be slow.

- Research and address the Etihad blog navigation issue: The current blog has a bug where navigating to the next page is not possible (paging element not working)

- Redesign the learning resources section to separate digital safety from digital advocacy and add more details to the content of the boxes to allow for more customized navigation based on the user needs

- Address and resolve the issue of thumbnail display when posting blog posts on social media

- Address the issue with the meter to allow for adding commas into numbers

- Add in-site analytics plugin

- Add and configure SEO functionality

- Optimize the website for Google search and other search engines

- Website SEO Booster including a training session.

- Website SEO audit & updates

- Keywords competitive analysis & research

- Website pages optimization

- Technical SEO review and updates

- Support to set up google analytics to produce 5 different customized reports

2. Upgrade the website to accommodate the Etihad online community space and allow users to apply to join the space

- Create a new section called “Etihad Community” with a built-in encrypted form for users to apply to join various online spaces.

- Design the page visually to align with Etihad website existing visual identity

3. Improve engagement and interaction with website visitors

- Create newsletter subscription including Mailchimp configuration 

- Create RSS feed

- Add YouTube icon to website

- Create new section (may involve several pages) for external learning resources and add it to main menu

- Create a new section called opportunities that will include (should be linked to newsletter): jobs, funding, join Etihad activity, others...

4.   Website maintenance including adding up to 5 new pages/year and addressing content issues that cannot be resolved by website administrators. 

- Regularly update website themes, plugins and extensions

- Fix any occurring bugs and address issues that impact the performance of the website 

- Assist website administrator in creating and adding content that is beyond their expertise level up to an agreed number of hours per year

- Manage website hosting and domain registration and ensuring timely renewal

- Submit monthly report including work done, hours and costs 

Payment Schedule                                                                                                                                                            

• 100% will be paid upon actual services provided (upgrading the website), and after submission of invoice and report for the payment.
• Monthly payments for maintenance based on an approved timesheet. 

 Work relationships:                                                                                                                                                        

• The company shall report to and work directly with the Etihad Program Manager and Etihad team.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate                                                                                                                         

1. Company registration documents. 

2. IDs of company owners.

3. More than 5 years experience in designing, developing, and maintaining websites. NGO websites are a plus.

4. Portfolio including samples of work and links to live websites.

5. 3 references that we can reach out to for due diligence
