Development Officer (DO)

ESPONSABILITES:

The following are the key duties and responsibilities of the Development Officer:

Grant Portfolio Management:

        •   Writes and leads the development of proposals and reports, supports the management of the submission and agreement processes

•   Works collaboratively across centers to compile the necessary information for applications and reports

•   Manages the grant proposal and reporting calendars with other team members, and tracks activities in fundraising database

•    Researches funding prospects and keeps an eye on grant and funding trends

•   Works closely with other team members to ensure recognition requirements of grants are fulfilled on time

Donor Relations Management :

•   Works with the marketing department to develop and enhance promotion and recognition tools aimed (website, print pieces, email content, story/pic/video library, frames)

•   Works on updating organisation policies and procedures

•    Supports the Executive Director with recognition and stewardship for major gift donors

Donor Database Administration:

•    Collaborates with other team members on performing regular database maintenance, including system backups and duplicate management

•    Tracks and reports on data for fundraising and grants.

• Able to maintain confidentiality; demonstrate sound judgment and discretion

• Post-secondary education in a related field (International Development, Political Sciences, ...) Experience • Minimum three years of fundraising experience in a not-for-profit setting • Experience with individual giving planned giving, and/or monthly giving programs • Experience managing a donor pipeline; familiarity with fundraising software and database(s) • Experience managing complex projects with specific targets Skills • Solid understanding of basic fundraising principles • Superior verbal and written communication skills, and ability to confidently interact with individuals at all levels • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook • Efficient while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
