Intern, Finance (2 positions)

Under the Overall supervision of Head of Office, guidance of the Head of Resources Management and direct supervision of the Finance Officer, the incumbent will act as Finance Intern undertaking the following:

General functions:

 

  1. Assist with the general administrative functions of the Finance Unit in the day-to-day processes. 
  2. Ensure filing system of accounting documents are efficient and effective.
  3. Stamp/label all financial supporting documentation processed by the Resources Management unit and maintain both hard copy and electronic filing system. 
  4. Daily update of the status of Filing of the RFP monitoring Report.
  5. Assist in the routing of documents to various units for approval and authorization.
  6. Provide timely support for the submission of documentation for audit purposes.
  7. Perform other related duties as may be required.

Training Components and Learning Elements The successful candidate will:

3. Become acquainted with Prism Financial Business Process.

4. Gain a unique understanding of IOM’s Financial Management Rules and Procedures.

Education:

• 3 years of University degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field from an accredited academic institution.

Experience:
• A previous internship or related work experience in accounting, finance and audit would be a distinct advantage.

Desirable Skills and Competencies:

• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Excellent writing and drafting skills.
• Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
• Computer literacy, especially database tools.
• Ability to learn new tasks rapidly and generate relevant information quickly and easily.

Languages:

Fluency (both oral and written) in English is required for the internship. Working knowledge of Arabic and French is an advantage.
