Driver

The Driver will be responsible for the transportation of MEPL staff, visitors, and guests and for various logistical tasks to ensure vehicles are legal, safe, and well-kept. The Driver should always exercise situational awareness when transporting passengers (LTTA, STTA and guests) to destinations. The person should be punctual and possess excellent communication skills to enable safe and efficient transport of passengers. Additionally, the driver should be aware of safety and security measures, policies, and laws and take a proactive approach to ensure compliance.

The Driver may not transport any unauthorized person(s) or provide unauthorized transportation.

This full-time position is based at the EnCompass office in Beirut, Lebanon and will report to the HR and Procurement Manager.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Escorts Encompass staff, STTA and guests to destinations (meetings, site visits and other specified occasions) according to established schedule
  • Ensures photos are taken of all passengers before leaving on official travel
  • Coordinates with HR and Procurement Manager for all travel, especially related to security updates or incidents that may occur during travel
  • Reports any incidents or deterioration of safety situation in a timely manner to relevant parties
  • Assists in renewing visas and other official documents as requested
  • Schedules routine vehicle repairs and maintenance as requested, and document according to EnCompass policies
  • Conducts yearly vehicle inspections and renews insurance
  • Records mileage purpose of trip, passengers, and other necessary information in log book as required by Encompass policies
  • Ensures project vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for use
  • Engage fully as a member of the EnCompass Lebanon MEPL team, including participation in meetings and trainings as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Academic Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Brevet Certificate

Experience and Skills

  • A valid Lebanese public driver’s license
  • Defensive driving certificate
  • Previous experience with other international companies, USAID-funded projects preferred
  • Excellent navigation, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to work within a team and to cope with multiple priorities
  • Ability to work outside standard working hours if necessary
  • Knowledge of English language preferred
  • Lebanese Nationals encouraged to apply
