Terms of reference (ToR) For an Accounting and Marketing Trainer
Organization background and mission brief
Mada is a non-partisan, non-sectarian Lebanese NGO, established and registered in 2000 in Lebanon, which aims to reinforce the relationship between local communities and their natural environment for the satisfaction of their substantial needs.
Mada association in collaboration with ARCS as Project Leader, currently has funding from the Italian Agency for International Cooperation to implement a 30 months’ project entitled “Promoting Vulnerable Women’s Economic and Social Empowerment in Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt” – AID 011528”.
The project aims at supporting vulnerable women of host communities and refugees, in Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt, in setting off on the path towards social and economic empowerment assisting them with the creation of real opportunity for job and Income Generation Initiatives (IGA). This will be realized through specific trainings intended to strengthen/launch their own business.
Job brief
Mada is looking for an Accountant and Marketing Trainer(s) to provide a 10 hours training for women managing a home-based business, divided into four training sessions:
- Common sessions: three common sessions per group for two groups (total of 8 hours);
- Individual sessions: one individual session for each of the 20 women (total of 2 hours).
The Accountant and Marketing trainer has to provide four training sessions in accounting and marketing for two groups of 20 women-led business who received endowment funds in the sector of dairy production, food processing, cooking pastries and sweets.
The training topics are as follows but not limited to:
- Lebanese regulations overview;
- Creating and processing invoice, receipt, quotations etc…;
- Taxation overview and knowledge;
- Tracking business revenues and expenses (matching principles);
- Book keeping (records and archiving);
- Cash flow statement;
- Cost principles;
- Develop and deploy custom eLearning materials;
- Monitor sales objectives and results;
- Online marketing and social media;
- Engagement with clients on social media with focusing on professional image;
- Establishment of loyal clients;
- Develop social media pages for the business;
The trainer will provide the mentioned training topics and work closely with the women who received endowment funds to create a healthy training environment while using interactive approaches and provide needed support.
Responsibilities
The activities below describe the responsibilities of the trainer, in addition to the deliverables per activity and the corresponding timeline.
I - Identification of needs:
- Planning meetings with Mada’s project manager to discuss the current situation of the targeted selected women in addition to their strengths, weaknesses and needs.
- Agree with Mada on the training program approach.
Deliverables:
- Detailed training plan including outlines and timeline;
II – Provision of training materials designed based on the identified needs
Deliverables:
- Training materials preparation and submission relevant to each training outline. The language of the training material and its delivery must be Arabic.
III – Implementation of the training program through the delivery of 10 hours divided into common and individual sessions
- Prepare pre and post training evaluation test;
- Provision of three common training sessions for each group (total of 8 hours for each of 2 groups);
- Provision of one individual session, online, for each women (total of 2 hours for each of 20 women);
- Provision of an online individual session for each women in each group;
- Traveling to the training venues locations in Mohamara, Akkar and Der Ammar, North Lebanon.
Deliverables:
- Pre and post training evaluation test template and grades;
- Attendance sheets for each training session.
IV – Development and provision of training reports.
- Provision of one training report for the group;
- A comprehensive report that should include completed activities, progress of the women, difficulties, challenges, strengths and weaknesses of women.
Deliverables:
- One comprehensive training report.
The consultant/trainer will conduct the individual session using online modality, and has to share the link with Mada’s team.
Mission timeline
The overall mission period is 3 weeks starting from during July 2022.

- The women trainees.
The trainer will work with Mada project team in close cooperation with the selected women in order to ensure an adequate delivery of the training program.
Education and knowledge required:
- Bachelor degree in business management, accounting, marketing or any related field – Master’s degree is a plus;
- Proven experience in the design, development, and delivery of similar trainings related to accounting and marketing;
- Ability to tailor training modules to the specific needs of trainees;
- Strong knowledge of the Lebanese regulations;
- Interpersonal skills that evoke trust and cultural sensitivity;
