General Practitioner MD - Tripoli Based

BACKGROUND:

The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization based in Beirut. CLDH was created in 2006 by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily), which has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human rights violations.

CLDH monitors the human rights situation in Lebanon, fights enforced disappearance, impunity, arbitrary detention and racism and rehabilitates the victims of torture. CLDH regularly organizes press conferences, workshops and advocacy meetings on human rights issues in Lebanon and collects, records and documents human rights abuses in reports and press releases.

The CLDH team on the ground supports initiatives aimed at determining the fate of all missing persons in Lebanon.

CLDH regularly follows up on numerous cases of arbitrary detention and torture in Lebanon in coordination with Lebanese and international organizations, and with the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention WGAD and the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture.

 

          CLDH currently has 4 offices: Dora, Baouchrieh and Beqaa and is looking to open a new office in Tripoli.

CLDH is aiming to enhance sustainable access to quality rehabilitation services and justice for Victims of Torture and their relatives in the North of Lebanon, in partnership with the Tripoli Bar Association “TBA”. TBA and CLDH will work together on establishing a rehabilitation center at TBA and under the supervision of the Prisoner’s Rights Center and CLDH.

Duties and Responsibilities:

CLDH is aiming to open a new center in Tripoli providing the same services.

The General Practitioner reports to the Center Coordinator and has the primary responsibility of:

 

●Identifying the beneficiaries’ medical needs

●Identifying medical treatment, if necessary

●Following up on given treatment, if necessary

●Completing a monthly detailed reporting as per CLDH’s templates

●Fill in the Data on CLDH forms

 

The GP will work upon appointments previously set (17USD/Consultation).

Education:

Minimum of general medicine diploma.    

Location:

The GP will visit CLDH Tripoli office when needed and upon appointments.
