Job Purpose
The project officer manages, monitors and implement all project activities and provides daily project execution oversight and support
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the Nutrition project in order to meet the project’s objectives within budget and within the project’s timeline
- Continuously monitor and supervise nutrition activities, evaluating progress through outputs and impacts using quantitative & qualitative data
- Provide strong leadership of the project, working to ensure both short and long-term positive impacts and outcomes for the beneficiaries
- Manage and monitor all project activities and progress towards achieving the project output
- Draft project related documentation including the preparation of agreements, amendments to agreements, SOPs, and any relevant supporting documents
- Follow up on the project management tools, including but not limited to reports, Logframe, ITT, SOPs, financial tracking, programmatic process flows
- Plan, coordinate, and prepare a monthly calendar of all the activities
- Write quality narrative reports, reflecting the progress and status of the project in a transparent and timely manner
- Coordinate with partner NGOs and relevant stakeholders (MoPH, Nutrition Sector, PHC Coordinators)
- Report to the Nutrition sector activity progress on a regular basis
- Review all submitted forms from community and health facility levels
- Follow-up on referral tracking sheet on a monthly basis
- Maintain and keep daily records of the means of verification including attendance sheets, pre/post-tests, minutes of meetings and evaluation documents are in place
- Ensure that contracted PHCs and field teams are submitting their files in a timely and qualitative manner
- Attending sector meetings and working groups
- Internal Coordination and Communication: Providing technical support to the project staff
- Regularly update and inform the Project staff of any deviations from the planned activities
- Prepare and update the list of items to be purchased on a monthly basis
- Ensure that the needed material and logistics of the determined locations are implemented
- Liaise and closely coordinate with the M&E Officer in the preparation, design, and implementation of all data collection activities including online tracking sheets, monitoring visits, and other similar activities to use as lessons learned and to support in the design of new programs.
- Report any issues/challenges faced at the field level to the Programmes Manager
- Track task progress in line with the established tracking system
- File properly contractual project documents both in hard and soft copies
Minimum Hiring Requirements
- A university degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Biology or any related medical/health field
- At least 1 year of experience in the Nutrition sector is required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience at an INGO/NGO is required
- Good reporting & writing skills
- Management skills
- Organization skills including time management and the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentational skills
- Excellent command of the English language
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel), Google drive tools
