World Learning: Call for trainers  

 

Background

The UNICEF-funded” School Bridging Program”, a school-based bridging program, aims to create for out-of-school children, multiple pathways that are flexible and responsive to each child’s unique learning needs. The program will be implemented in approximately 260 private /semi-private schools and is estimated to target 51,000 out-of-school children.

World Learning, in its capacity as SBP Technical Partner, has an immediate consultancy vacancy for its Beirut-based “Call for trainers” for the UNICEF “School Bridging Program”. This position is for a Lebanese national.

Join our consultant’s team for the training activities and work with us over the duration of this Framework Contract (estimated to start on 18 July 2022 and until 31 December 2022).

The training is organized into 5 different content areas. Please note that you must be fluent in either English or French or Arabic and have a minimum of three years of proven experience in the field(s) relevant to the lot(s) you are tendering for.

 

Areas of Training  
  1. Social and Emotional Learning
 The SEL Program Trainer will work closely and report to the World Learning’s Beirut office project manager and closely coordinate with the SEL Specialist in all SEL activities related to School Bridging Program (SBP) focused on non-formal primary school education.  S/he will:
  • Commit to understanding out-of-school children’s profiles and keep abreast of the SEL literature and contextually relevant practices for SEL.
  • Attend and deliver training and capacity-building sessions for schoolteachers and educational focal points on social and emotional learning (SEL) and the project Holistic Learning Approach (HLA).
  • Assist in the development of SEL-related content and resources as needed.
  • Work through online platforms to support teachers and meet on a regular basis.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed and requested by SEL Specialist/Senior Management.

 

  1. Arabic language Trainer
 The Arabic language Trainer will report to World Learning’s Beirut office project manager and coordinate with the Senior Literacy Technical Director in all literacy activities mainly in Arabic related to School Bridging Program (SBP) focused on non-Formal primary school education.  S/he will be able to
  • Acquire a deep understanding of the literacy in-class support program theoretical framework and pedagogy (Holistic Learning Approach and Balanced Literacy Approach)
  • Commit to understanding out-of-school children’s profiles and keep abreast of the latest research-based principles of learning that are most convenient for them, especially those who are emergent readers and writers
  • Deliver capacity-building sessions (for teachers and other adults) and motivate participants to understand and apply the HLA/BLA approach
  • Work with distance learning and web conferencing to support teachers and meet on a regular basis
  • Perform additional tasks as needed and requested by the Senior Literacy Technical Director or Senior Management

 

  1. French language Trainer
 The French language Trainer will report to World Learning’s Beirut office project manager and coordinate with the Senior Literacy Technical Director in all literacy activities mainly in Arabic related to School Bridging Program (SBP) focused on non-Formal primary school education.  S/he will be able to

  1. Math Trainer
 The Math Trainer will report to World Learning’s Beirut office project manager and coordinate with the Math Specialist in all math activities related to School Bridging Program (SBP) focused on non-Formal primary school education.  S/he will be able to:
  • Attend and deliver training on the project Holistic Learning Approach (HLA) and Balanced Math Approach (BMA)
  • Work with distance learning and web conferencing to support teachers and meet on a regular basis
  • Train Educational Quality focal points and semi-private school teachers, before the launching of the SBP & following up with teachers when needed
  • Perform additional tasks as needed and requested by Math Specialist or Senior Management.
  Required Qualifications: 
  • BS/Master’s degree in elementary education with a focus on either Arabic, French, or English language, Math, social work, or psychology.
  • A minimum of 5 years of teaching/training in the field at the primary school level
  • Excellent spoken and written English, and/or French
  • Extensive training experience with diverse audiences; teachers, principals, field specialists
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with diverse groups of professionals
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and flexibility with project demands
  • Adequate experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Commitment to work under pressure and to deliver within timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

 

Duration of the Assignment

Consultancy position for 6 months with possibilities of renewal
