Senior Communication Officer

OBJECTIVE

Responsible for handling International and Local Projects’ communications with the relevant stakeholders, by conveying information to internal and external audiences by preparing and producing messages and publications.

DUTIES

Operational Activities

  • Serve as the communication and relationship aspects focal point for Projects and programs stakeholders and donors’ representatives.
  • Plan and implement Caritas Lebanon internal communication strategy and newsletter.
  • Update website content.
  • Edit, prepare and send out written communication internally and externally.
  • Monitor media landscape and breaking news stories related to program activities.
  • Support in preparing press releases and responses to media enquiries.
  • Support in events organization.
  • Support in the Social Media communication landscape.
  • Assist in preparing communications material for the organization and its projects such as brochure, poster, documentary, videos, etc.
  • Partake in all caritas activities/events and assist in the required communication task.
  • Support in administrative tasks.

Generic Duties

  • Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures.
  • Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
  • Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls.
  • Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the Head of Department.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the head of department. 

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Academic

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Public Relation or Communication.
  • Preferably a Master’s degree or any related certificate.

Other Qualifications

  • Communication, strong English writing skills, analytical and negotiation skills, excellent team player, strong verbal communication, ability to adapt to all work environments pertaining to an International Relief Organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and ability to foster teamwork and adopt sound interpersonal relationships with colleagues.
  • High work ethics, honesty and transparency.

Related Work Experience

5 years of experience in related field.

Language skills

English and Arabic Proficiency, French is a plus.

Computer Literacy

Microsoft office proficiency, strong internet literacy, graphics software is a plus.
