Renewable Energy Officer

General objectives and tasks:

1- Studies: 

• Contribute and lead on feasibility studies for renewable energy project (e.g. biogas, PV).
• Data collection and analysis (scientific data).
• Modelling of biogas production (energy production, and fertilizing value).
• Study of the different technologies available.
• Keep up to date with the last trends and technologies related to the energy sector.
• Contribute to energy needs assessment.
• Provide technical support on waste management processes (solid waste and wastewater).
• Help identify specific needs and find solutions.

2- Plan, implement and follow up on projects activities:

• Planning of the tasks.
• Data collection.
• Conduct site visits.
• Implementing Key Informant Interviews.
• Data analysis (scientific data & economic data).
• Contribute the writing of environmental reports.
• Participate in concept note and project proposal preparation for implementation of renewable energy related projects.
• Training of workers for collection and packaging of specific wastes.
• Sustain the ongoing activities related to the unit.
• Develop and elaborate specific methodologies and processes related to the field of expertise.

3- Report field activities to the unit manager:

• Ensuring effective dissemination of and access to information on activities and results.
• Ensure documents are properly filed and up to date.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of required reports.

Position requirements:

Professional Skills:

• Basic to medium IT skills (databases, MS Office etc.)
• Basic to medium IT skills (databases, MS Office etc.)
• Knowledge of renewable energy sector.
• Experience in energy assessment.
• Knowledge of solid waste / wastewater management processes would be a plus.
• Knowledge of EIA requirements would be a plus.

Working schedule: Monday till Friday from 09:00 am till 05:00 pm.
