The Protection Officer will:
- Be responsible for overviewing and managing the helpdesk assistants who are based on the distribution sites.
- Be responsible for the interagency referrals (submittal, follow up, feedback and archiving).
- Be responsible for maintaining a database of all relevant information.
- Be responsible for organizing comprehensive protection workshops for the DCL staff (with focus on gender awareness and sexual abuse and exploitation)
- Make sure that all DCL staff is abiding by GBV and PSEA rules and code of conduct.
- Work with the target beneficiaries to identify needs and gaps in service delivery from a protection point of view.
- Generate a monthly report about all protection activities and referrals.
- Participate on behalf of DCL in protection-related meetings and workshops (both online and in-person in Beirut and in North Lebanon).
- Organize focus group discussions with beneficiaries concerning protection.
- Report to the Project Manager.
- Ensure that all information related to protection is properly filed and secured.
- Act as a protection focal point with WFP.

Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level, preferably in social sciences (psychology, social work, etc).
- Thorough awareness of gender issues and GBV.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant protection work experience (experience within an NGOs is a plus);
- Knowledge of humanitarian and NGO principles;
- Proof of participation in relevant protection conferences and workshops.
- MS proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory.
Duration of contract:
5 months (August – December 2022)
