Project Coordinator - OCHA

Society for Inclusion and Development for Community, and Care for All (SIDC) initiated its work in 1987 (decree 9 / AD) with the aim of improving the social and health situation of the most vulnerable groups and defending their human rights, their right to health, social and mental health services as well as their right to work and live in dignity.

SIDC is seeking a Coordinator for the project "Empowering 130 Individuals from the LGBTQIA+ Community in Lebanon" funded by the Office For the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), with the overall objective of reducing the risk of gender based violence (GBV) amongst individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community residing in Lebanon.

The project coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, evaluation and tracking the progress of the project to meet its designed objectives.  

Main duties and responsibilities:

Management and Coordination

  • To coordinate, manage, prepare, amend the action plan and organize all activities and tasks set under the project.
  • To follow up on the planning and the execution of the work, and oversee the management of the project and activities with all colleagues and partners in the project, and support the team in delivering their work that it is under his/her supervision.
  • To facilitate the work of the Financial Manager and accountant by providing all necessary documents for the regular financial reports.
  • To coordinate all tasks related to the project with all partners and consultants.
  • To observe the progress of project activities, and take appropriate actions with the support of the team members and under the supervision of the Executive Director.
  • To suggest what works best for the project, and alert team and all partners for any action that needs to be taken throughout the project.
  • Learn about SIDC’s work and programs and the work of others in the same field, and grasp a full understanding of the root causes and problem statement behind projects. 

 Project implementation and reporting

  • To document and file all data and documents related to the project.
  • To prepare and submit monthly reports to the Executive Director, and submit all related reports to the project tasks.
  • To support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and report on problems in the implementation of the projects.
  • Be involved in coordinating the work with all team members and consultants recruited for the project.
  • Participate in regular team meetings.
  • Respond to requests from Executive Director.
  • Be prepared to respond to any other duties relating to the nature of the job as per the Executive Director’s request.

Coordination and representation

  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with relevant stakeholders including partner agencies, service providers and other relevant bodies.
  • Provide feedback of actions taken to the Project Manager and other agencies when necessary.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders and advocacy to address specific issues.
  • Represent the project and its outcomes through the coordination and supervision of the Executive Director.
  • Work closely with the team and consultants to monitor work progress.

 Reporting lines

  • Report to the Executive director of SIDC.
  • Coordinate with the Financial Manager and the accountant when needed to prepare the financial reports concerning project activities.
  • Coordinate with the team members and partners frequently and as needed.  
  • Answer and following up with all donor requests and reporting system in relation to the tasks and activities managed under his/her responsibilities.

 

Qualifications and experience

The successful Project Coordinator must be a self-directed individual with the following qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or any relevant field including gender and health;
  • Three to five years of NGO experience is a must;
  • Experience in project coordination, management, monitoring and follow-up;
  • Professional technical knowledge/expertise in theories, standards and models, quantitative/qualitative/mixed methods, validity/reliability testing of data, data analysis and interpretation, and statistical inference methods;
  • Relevant work experience in data collection preferably in social work, community development, non-government, and/or outreach organizations;
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and reporting skills;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, specifically the ability to deliver succinct and persuasive analysis.
  • Offer great organizational skills and efficiency in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results

  • Must be result-oriented, exhibiting high levels of enthusiasm, tact, diplomacy and integrity;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to successfully and effectively liaise with people in a wide range of functions in a multi-cultural environment;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to work independently, as well as within a large, fast-paced team and to prioritize tasks.
  • Self-motivated, honest, highly responsible, and punctual;
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.
