Community Mobilization Officer

Main Purpose of the position & JD

The Community Mobilization Officer will assist in the Community Engagement and Social and Behavioral Change component

• Identifying primarily active community groups and persons/role models/key informants/volunteers;

• Constantly updating the CMS on the project progress or on any modifications that need to be taken regarding the implementation process;

• Working closely with concerned parties on conveying QUDWA key messages and coordinating their dissemination within the community through various creative activities and initiatives;

• Conducting frequent field visits to all project sites in the community and monitor implemented QUDWA activities;

• Providing monthly reports to CMS on the implementation of the project and the quality of intervention with CBOs and committees;

• Maintaining open and professional relations with implementing communities, stakeholders, and role models, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions;

• Ensuring that Social and Behavioral Change standards are well understood and applied in the communities and supporting the communities in establishing a clear referral system;

• Representing TDH IT in field-based multi-agency and overall interagency clusters where appropriate;

• Organizing and monitoring the community engagement events and activities that tackle Social and Behavioral Change, referring to related activity guidelines;

• Brainstorming with the community on the modality of delivering the SBCC key messages and on the best ways of engaging key stakeholders and community members;

• Ensuring a direct participation of the communities in the planning of the activities;

• Participating in the coordination of procurement activities related to the project’s component;

• Organizing regular frequent meetings with representatives, to share lessons learned, exchange experiences; and identify areas in need of capacity building.

• Liaising with other agencies/NGOs/government bodies/donors to ensure coordination, implementation of common standards in the field and consideration of protection issues in assistance programs.
