Protection Assistant

Conduct protection related sessions and community outreach activities:

  • Prepare weekly activity plans for protection assistance to target beneficiaries, in line with the project work plan
  • Conduct periodic assessments among target beneficiaries to identify their needs and adapt activities and session delivery techniques to encourage participation, to meet the needs
  • Conduct psychosocial support sessions for the identified children, youth, women, and men, at the designated safe places
  • Facilitate life skills training for the targeted youth, women, and men, at community level and/or designated safe places
  • Provide psychological first aid to target project beneficiaries as per assessment conducted, at the designated safe places
  • Conduct periodic assessments with beneficiaries to continuously understand activities that are relevant and motivate them to discuss
  • Identify and refer persons with specific needs to appropriate services in line with safe identification and referral principles
  • Collect information, and update and maintain a service mapping and referral pathway at the community level

 

Support to Project Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL):

  • Ensure inclusion of people with specific needs and minorities in the project activities
  • Ensure that CRM (Complaints & Response Mechanism) is rolled out and functional
  • Ensure daily record of attendance per activity and ensure that the data collected is accurate
  • Collect, store and maintain data in line with agreed procedures for data protection

 

Other:

  • Actively participate in relevant training and/or capacity building session provided for your tasks, and other relevant Concern initiatives that may apply to your tasks. 
  • Be mindful of equality issues, particularly relating to gender, during the execution of assigned tasks.
  • Ensure the highest stands of accountability through ensuring good communication and information sharing within and outside the organisation.
  • Be aware of, understand and comply with all of Concern’s policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management etc).
  • Actively participate in any emergency response if called upon to do so, within the project implementation area.
  • Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Protection Officer or Protection Programme Manager

Essential

  • University degree in one or several of the following areas: Psychology, Social work or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • At least   1-3  years of relevant experience, especially at NGOs
  • Fluent in English, Arabic and French
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong internal relationships and networks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with cultural sensitivity
  • Willing to travel frequently across locations in Beirut and Mount Lebanon
  • Flexible and willing to learn and/or adapt to a fluid situation
  • Flexibility in working overtime when needed and ability to handle pressure well

Desirable

  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Good computer skills particularly Microsoft office packages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail

Concern Code of Conduct and its Associated Policies
