Business developer/coordinator for BEDCO and KAN YA MAKAN ( Social Enterprises )

MARCH is a Lebanese non-profit non-governmental organization founded in 2011 working to consolidate social cohesion within some of the country’s most prominent volatile areas.  Its mission is centered around an innovative and multidisciplinary approach to peacebuilding and conflict resolution that focuses on engaging vulnerable and socioeconomically marginalized youth between the ages of 18 and 35, susceptible to sectarian-based violence. 

“BEDCO “and “KAN YA MAKAN” are a socio-economic initiative aiming to continue MARCH’s mission by engaging beneficiaries that were part of its conflict resolution program that will continue to Positively shift the life trajectories of marginalized youth in at-risk conflict areas by providing them with income and career opportunities in the construction and furniture sector along with emotional resilience, self-esteem and a sense of belonging and identity.

Description:

MARCH is looking for a Business Developer or Social Entrepreneur for the development of its social initiative BEDCO the first social construction enterprise in Lebanon and KAN YA MAKAN designs.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and implement a business development plan for both Kan Ya MaKan designs and BEDCO sustainable initiatives.
  • Undertake a diagnostic and assessment of the current situation of BEDCO and Kan Ya MaKan identifying main needs and areas for improvement.
  • Create a production and quality control system to enhance the quality and designs and make the production process efficient.
  • Study and define and implement the pricing strategy.
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and target markets for BEDCO and Kan Ya MaKan. 
  • Prepare and implement an outreach and target clientele strategy for both BEDCO and Kan Ya MaKan to increase outreach and expansion. 
  • Manage a proper implementation for the approved budget with MARCH's team and the relevant donors.
  • Ensure smooth coordination with the relevant donors and supporters of our social initiatives.
  • Ensure the implementation of the right financial procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and industry players to expand BEDCO and Kan Ya MaKan's reach.
  • Prepare and implement the marketing and digital strategy.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicadors (KPIs) to track progress. 

Requirements and Qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of experience in the humanitarian field, management position and business development;
  • A Master’s degree in business, economics, entrepreneurship, development or a combination of bachelor’s degree or other related fields;
  • Experience in working within vulnerable and marginalized communities;
  • Experience in management of on-the-ground operations;
  • Experience in financial and procurement policies;
  • Experience in narrative and financial reporting;
  • Strong command of English and Arabic language;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Solid interpersonal skills;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to practice active and attentive listening; 
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize needs.
