World Learning: DIRASA Program - Senior Information and Research Officer:
Background
The UNICEF-funded” Dirasa Program” a school-based bridging program aims to create for out-of-school children, multiple pathways that are flexible and responsive to each child’s unique learning needs. The program will be implemented in 200 private schools and is estimated to target more than 50,000 out-of-school children.
World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “Senior Information and Research Officer” for the UNICEF “Dirasa Program”. This position is for a Lebanese national.
S/he will be responsible for coordinating, overlooking, and ensuring timely data collection and monitoring and reporting on project indicators and adherence to quality and timely implementation of the project activities at the central and regional levels. His/ her responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for indicator-based monitoring and working closely with the literacy and numeracy officers and field focal points to report on the indicators in a timely manner
- Provide ongoing technical support and evidence-based recommendations to M&E Director
- Conduct regular field visits to oversee routine program monitoring activities.
- Ensure the quality of M&E-related data is collected throughout the program implementation.
- Analyze projects data and report on findings and recommendations and produce periodic reports as needed
- Prepare needed visuals to present findings of assessments and evaluations within the project to inform planning and stakeholders
- Assist in designing and conducting research
- Assist the various program teams in data analysis
- Train field staff in data collection methodology and in the M&E system, in general
- Oversee the focal point officers and build their capacity in tools development, data collection, verification and analysis, and reporting
- Perform additional tasks as needed and requested
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, statistics, or similar field.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel/Word/PowerPoint; knowledge of Microsoft Access and/or SPSS is an asset
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Attention to detail to catch errors
- Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken
Duration of the Assignment
12 months with possibilities of renewal
