Call for Consultancies - Professional Graphic Designer

About ABAAD

 

ABAAD– Resource Center for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region.

ABAAD advocates for the development and implementation of policies and laws that enhance women’s effective participation, through a rights-based approach that would bring about tangible change to gender justice.

With the purpose of ending gender-based violence, ABAAD adopts a holistic care approach to provide protection and support services to GBV survivors/right holders during times of peace, war and disasters since 2011.

 

About the project

“Strengthening Civil Courage” (SCC) is a project led by a four-member consortium funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is comprised of organizations which focus on the promotion and advancement of human rights. These include, Netherlands-based PAX and Amnesty International, ABAAD as well as Defend Defenders which operates in the African East and Horn sub-regions. SCC’s primary aim is to integrate civilians in peacemaking and peacekeeping processes and support them in countering human rights violations.

Overall goal of this assignment

The overall goal of this assignment is to seek a professional graphic designer (can be individual and/or agency/company) to develop the design of a training manual “the Gender integration curriculum”

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the design and layout of A4 size training manual with an easily readable presentation of information of the Gender integration curriculum
  • The design is to be aligned with ABAAD and donor branding and identity and to be culturally and gender-sensitive to the Lebanese and other contexts.
  • The design should be creative, attractive and innovative
  • The design should include visuals and infographics
  • The design will be adapted in three languages (Arabic, English and French) noting the following:
    • Arabic version is 86 pages
    • English version is 64 pages
    • French version is 75 pages
  • The final design should be delivered in two formats:
    1. High quality file for printing (with cropmarks, bleed and file information)
    2. High quality but small file size PDF file or online sharing and usage

The approval process of the developed design will be as follow:

  • Preparing design draft (2 different style and feeling options to be selected from)
  • The designer will need to plan for a review of the drafts with the ABAAD Communications team – feedback and clearance
  • Feedback and approval from ABAAD Management
  • Feedback and clearance from donor

 

 

Skills required

  • Preferable previous experience working with the humanitarian sector on the production of online/offline content.
  • Proven track record in designing IEC materials.
  • Previous designs relating to GBV, youth and gender studies is advantageous
  • Efficient in meeting commitments and observing deadlines
