JOB SUMMARY
The Finance Officer assists in maintaining a proper system of accounting principles implementation and provide timely and accurate financial to donors and other stakeholders. The FO will ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data and liaise with Project Coordinator, Internal and external auditors, management and team members to deliver compliant and relevant financial information detrimental to management decision making.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Activities
- Develops and maintains donor financial reporting systems
- Plans, directs, and controls Project’s funds and cash flows
- Prepares reports and documents covering accounting transactions
- Ensures that accurate records are kept by standard practices
- Monitors budget performance, expenditure control
- Prepares various monthly reports and reconciliations to analyze the financials, profit and loss statements, general ledger entries
- Reconcile Financial reporting with bank situation and project situation.
- Coordinate with external auditor on project performance and evaluation
Generic Duties
- Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures
- Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
- Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls
- Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the Finance Director
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the director
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Academic: Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance or any related fields
Other Qualifications: Communication, writing

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fully competent and capable of applying accounting software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Related Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience
- Exposure to donor accounting is an advantage
Language skills: English and Arabic
Computer Literacy: MS-Word / MS-Excel – Advanced level
