Translator

Skoun Lebanese Addictions Center NGO founded in 2003 provide accessible treatment, education and protection for people who use drugs. Skoun strives to ensure drug use and addiction are treated as a primary health issue.

Job Summary:

The translator will provide quality, timely and professional translation service from English to Arabic or vice versa such that the meaning presented in the document reflects their true sense.

The candidate is expected to:

  • Translate internal and external publications, documentations, reports and brochures from English to Arabic and vice versa as required.
  • Display solid writing skills and high standards of accuracy, consistency and faithfulness to the spirit, style and nuances of the original text.
  • Organize translated materials and finalize translation according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology (Legal and Clinical)
  • Edit, standardize, proofread, revise and finalize translated material prepared by other employees and contractors.
  • Support any other task related to Skoun’s written and audio-visual content, as required.
  • Communicate with team members and other stakeholders, when needed.
  • Adhere to the medical, legal and preventive terminology of Skoun
  • Translation shall be done within the stipulated deadlines

• At least three years of experience, previous experience with NGOs or medical field is a plus.
• Extensive experience in translating legal, preventative and clinical publications, brochures and reports
• A university degree in translation, language, communication, journalism, public relations, public health, international relations or any related field.
