Project Manager (WASH/Education)

General information about the project

The proposed action is an urgent multi-sectoral intervention that addresses seasonal needs and water supply  services gaps in the underserved governorate of Akkar, in the north of Lebanon. By enhancing the public water system of a municipality in Akkar and securing winterization of a local public school, the project is addressing urgent multi-sectoral needs and gaps of vulnerable communities and children of Lebanon by securing public water provision and seasonal preparedness.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  1. Set up and supervise the implementation of project activities in close cooperation with project staff, local authorities and coordination bodies to ensure project objectives are achieved within the prescribed timeframe and within the parameters of the grant received;
  2. Support, facilitate or undertake communication and liaison activities to actively consult partner and involve beneficiaries, key informants, actors, and stakeholders in all stages of project implementation;
  3. Plan the project expenditure and ensure the expenditure of budgets are compliant with ARCS and donor finance requirements;
  4. Implement and supervise M&E plan, including data collection and monitoring, assessments and evaluations, and devise possible mitigation strategies;
  5. Ensure that all project reporting (internal and external) and other project documents are completed in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with ARCS and donor requirements;
  6. Supervise and coordinate local project staff, ensuring a positive working environment and good team dynamics.

Essential Requirements

  1. University degree in International Studies, Public Policy, Political Science, Social Science or related fields;
  2. At least 2-year professional work experience in humanitarian/development sector;
  3. Previous work experience in Lebanon in humanitarian/development sector;
  4. Fluency in spoken and written English and Italian;
  5. Good command of Office and windows applications, including word processing and spreadsheets;
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders and institutional actors;
  7. Flexibility and ability to multi-task under pressure;
  8. Sharing mission and values of ARCS, adherence to ARCS Code of Ethics and Policies.

 

Desirable Requirements

  1. Previous work experience with ARCS, particularly in the Middle East and Lebanon;
  2. Basic knowledge of Arabic;
  3. Ability to work well in unstable and frequently changing security environments;
