Medair Cholera Vaccination

Summary of the Job:

The vaccinator provides direct vaccination services to patients in the Cholera vaccination campaign as per MoPH guidelines and requirements by Medair related to administration of Oral Cholera Vaccines.  Support the Ministry of Public Health’s effort to tackle the Cholera outbreak. 

Location:
CholeVax team Bekaa or North Lebanon

Working hours:            
8h/ day, 6 days per week. (additional hours can be requested by the site supervisor upon needs)

Payment: TBD during interview 

Duration: 3 to 4 weeks

Estimated starting date: Nov 10th

Job holder reports to:
Team Supervisor

Main tasks and duties:

• Support in the vaccination process in the destined locations.
• Conduct door-to door vaccination.
• Commitment to standards of care and professional practice.
• Demonstrate clinical assessment skills for patient’s as per national and international guidelines.
• Assess the patient’s medical history, in particular any allergy history to assess the risk of potential adverse event.
• Prepare the vaccines and maintain infection control protocols on duty.
• Administer the Cholera vaccines to the patients.
• Maintain equipment in good working conditions and regularly inventory all consumable and non-consumable supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment, placing timely orders to restock unit as required.
• Dispose of bio-hazardous waste following waste management protocols.
• Report any adverse event to the supervisor and inform the supervisor of any emergency case.
• Provide first aid services such as Basic Life Support if needed.
• Commit to working hours.
• Commit to maintain professional ethics, quality of care, patient confidentiality.
• Abide by all policies and work procedures.
• Treat all patients with respect and professionalism.

Qualifications and experience required:

• Degree in medical field (nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, …).
• Ability to have good verbal and written communication with all workers.
• Basic computer skills (especially in using the electronic medical file), electronic printer, etc.
• Languages: Arabic (Fluent), desirable English (Good).
